Choice of post driver
T he A/C range of the LPD i s a heavy-duty ,
hydrauli c powered post dri vers desi gned for the
ram ming of vari ous types of sign posts, wood
pil es and steel profi les i nto the ground. The
LPD post dri ver can be equipped wi th buil t-i n
control val ve, or a remote control val ve.
T he LPD equi pped w i th bui lt-in control val v e
i s i ntended for use on an Open - Centre
hydrauli c system. LPD equi pped wi th a remote
co n trol val v e i s i ntended for use on ei ther
Open-Centre or Closed-Centre hydraul i c
sy st e m s.
Yearof m anufacture: See the ID-tag.
Correc t w orking methods
Not e: Low /High Temperatures. In cold
condi tions, warm up the post dri ver by li ght use
for a few m inutes before starting work.
Always use the correct adaptors for the post
and for the dri ver.
1. Pl ace the appropri ate adaptori n the front head
of t he LPD by pulli ng up the adaptor rel ease ri ng
and sl ide the adaptor. Rel ease the adaptor
rel ease ri ng and ensure that the adaptor i s
properl y secured i n the front head of the LPD.
2. Remove the protecti ve caps from the qui ck -
rel ease coupl ings.
3. Clean the qui ck-rel ease couplings i f needed
and connect the tail -hoses to the extensi on
hoses of the power source ( see operati ng
manual of the power source).
4. Sli de the post into the LPD as shown.
5. Li ft the post and dri ver to a vertical posi tion as
shown. For l ong and heavy posts, two persons may
be requi red.

6. Acti vate the trigger. When the LPD i s wi thin reach,
grasp the handl es.
7 When dri vi ng, m ake sure you are able to keep safel y
bal anced. Keep arm s and legs clear of the post, i f a
post breaks duri ng operati on the post dri ver wi th a
projecti ng broken shank wi ll suddenl y drop.
8 Avoi d acti vating the post dri ver when i t i s
re m oved from the pos t and g round. T hi s wil l lead to
i ncreased hydrauli c oil tem peratures and seal wear.
9 DO NOT i nvert the post dri ver wi thout fi rst i solati ng
the hydraulicsupply.
11 Do not conti nue to work i f the hoses vibrate
abnormall y.
12 Do not ri de” the m achine, e.g. wi th one leg sl ung
over the handl e. Thi s could result i n injury, especi all y i f
the tool were to break.
13 Investigate the contents of the materi al in whi ch you
are going to work. Look out forhidden cabl es and
pipes, e.g. electri ci ty, telephone, water, gas, or sewage
li nes.
14 If you suspect that the post has struck a hidden
obj ect, stop the machi ne i mm edi atel y. Make sure there
i s no danger before conti nui ng wi th the work.
15 Onl y use the m achine for the jobs for whi ch i t i s
i ntended.
Be alert
Always concentrate on what you are doing. Use
comm on sense. Never operate the machine when you
are ti red or under the infl uence of drugs, al cohol or
other substances whi ch might affect your vi si on,
reacti on abili ty or judgments.
