MP-124 DC-Powered Quick Guide
1 Before Installing
Congra tulations on purchasing your AudioCodes MP-124 DC-Powered Analog Media Gateway! Before
you begin using the device, e nsure that the following i tems a re included i n the shipped box:
Two brackets and scre ws for 19-inch ra ck mounting
DC terminal block
Youll also need the following (not s upplied):
RJ-45 Ethernet cables
PC running a Web browser
Warning: MP-124 devi ces are indoor units a nd there fore, must be i nstalled only i ndoors.
Routi ng of FXS telephony ca bles outdoors ca n be done only i n conjunction with AudioCodes
a pproved surge protector (Ci rca model 4B3S-75) and proper installation and grounding. When
done correctly, the installation will meet ITU-T K.21 (basic) standards. The Ethernet port
i nte rface cabling must be routed only i ndoors a nd must not exit the building.
2 MP-124 LEDs
MP-124 provides LEDs on its front panel, as shown below a nd described in the s ubsequent table.
LED Description
Channels Green On: Off-hook Red On: Line malfunction or unavailable due to
SRTP ena bled
Off: On-hook
Data Green Flash: Transmitting RTP Red Flash: Receiving RTP Off: No traffic
Control Green On: Sending/receiving SIP messages Off: No traffic
Lan Green On: 10/100Ba s eTX link Red On: Malfunction
Ready Green On: Power on Amber Flash: Initializing Red On: M
alfunction
Off: No power
