Technical modifications

The data stored in the control
unit of the electronic engine
management system is the
result of extensive experi-
mental and testing work.
Tampering with the control
unit of the engine manage-
ment system represents an
increased safety risk for the
rider.
L Note:
Manipulation of the electronic
engine management system
voids the warranty in all
instances of damage conse-
quential to such manipulation.
There is only limited scope for
technical modifications to the
motorcycle.
Whenever you are planning
such modifications, comply
with all the legal requirements.
The motorcycle must not
infringe your national road-vehi-
cle construction and use regu-
lations.
Your authorised BMW motorcy-
cle dealer will gladly advise you
on technical requirements, the
manufacturer’s recommenda-
tions and the overall benefit
likely to be obtained.
Genuine BMW parts
For reasons of safety, use only
genuine BMW parts and acces-
sories.
Genuine BMW parts are identi-
cal with those fitted to your
motorcycle as original equip-
ment.
BMW Motorrad refuses to
accept any liability whatsoever
for other-make spare parts and
accessories.
