From time to time turn the steam knob and leave a little quan-
tity of solution from the milk frother.
8. When all of the solution has gone through the machine, turn off
the appliance and let it cool down.
9. To rinse the appliance, operate the machine with plain water
(without acid citric) repeating the operations from point 1 to 8
at least 2 times.
The filter coffee machine must be decalcified every 40 cycles
(according to the water hardness). Proceed as follows:
1. Fill with water the carafe up to level 4 CUPS.
2. Dissolve 2 spoons of citric acid (30 grams, available from
chemists or drug stores);
3. Pour the descaling solution in the reservoir and put it in the
appliance;
4. Remove the filter;
5. Place the carafe on the warming plate;
6. Press the ON/OFF filter coffee switch, brew the equivalent of a
cup of the solution and then turn off the appliance.
7. Allow the solution to sit in the machine for an hour;
8. Turn the machine back on and allow the rest of the solution to
filter through the circuits;
9.To rinse the appliance, operate the machine with plain water and
without using ground coffee at least 3 times (3 full tanks of
water).
Repairs for malfunctioning caused by problems of calcium
build-up are not covered by the guarantee if the descaling
process described above is not carried out regularly.
