6.1.1. Goto “File -> Print”
6.1.2. Choose the Epilog Laser as your printer (if it is not available see
the connection trouble shooting section below)
6.1.3. Select “Preferences” to start the Epilog Laser menu (Dark and Light
Blue menu should pop up)
6.1.4. Press “Advanced Options” on the top of the Epilog menu
6.1.5. You will see a list of common materials, with 1-4 settings for each
material.
6.1.6. Choose your material from the list and decide if you want 400 or
600 dpi (600 is more detailed but slower)
6.1.7. Press “Load” to load the material settings
6.1.8. Press “OK” at the bottom of the Menu
6.1.9. The Epilog Menu should disappear and you are now back to the
original print menu, Press “Print” to send the job to the Epilog Laser
6.1.10. The Epilog Laser “Data” light should come on briefly and the
display on the laser should show a new job has been received. (If
the job does not show up, see the printer connection help section
below and then start over from the start of step 6.)
6.2. To Cut:
6.2.1. Select the vector/s you wish to cut with
6.2.2. In the Inkscape Menu select “Object -> Fill and Stroke”
6.2.3. Set Fill to “none” and the stroke to pure opaque black with a stroke
width of .001 inches (see the FabLab guide for detailed instruction)
6.2.4. Goto “File - > Save As” and save the file as a pdf with default
settings
6.2.5. Open the file with Adobe Reader
6.2.6. Press “Print”
6.2.7. Choose the Epilog Laser as your printer (if it is not available see
the connection trouble shooting section below)
6.2.8. Select “Properties” to start the Epilog Laser menu (Dark and Light
Blue menu should pop up)
6.2.9. Press “Advanced Options” on the top of the Epilog menu
6.2.10. You will see a list of common materials, with 1-4 settings for each
material.
6.2.11. Choose your material from the list, using the option that says cut,
noting that for some materials you will also need to choose what
thickness your material is
6.2.12. Press “Load” to load the material settings
6.2.13. Press “OK” at the bottom of the Menu
6.2.14. The Epilog Menu should disappear and you are now back to the
original print menu, Press “Print” to send the job to the Epilog Laser
6.2.15. The Epilog Laser “Data” light should come on briefly and the
