Installation
Overview
To aid in installation, the flow switch comes already mounted in a 2” tee fitting. For 1½” piping,
adapters (not included) should be used. Allow at least 12” of straight pipe run before the GLX-FLO
to insure proper operation. When installing, make sure that the arrows on the tee and switch are
pointing in the same direction as the water flow. If removal of the flow switch from the tee ever
becomes necessary, make sure to use teflon tape on the threads when reinstalling. Also, make
sure that the three (3) arrows located on the hex of the flow switch are pointing in the same direc-
tion as flow.
Wiring
The enclosed flow switch has a “phone jack” style connector for use with all Hayward chlorination
products produced in May 2000 or later (datecode 0005xxxx or later). Simply plug the jack into the
proper receptacle.
For Aqua Rite systems produced before May 2000:
1. Cut off phone jack.
2. Strip gray jacket back 1½”.
3. Cut off black and yellow leads, they are not used.
4. Strip insulation on red and green leads.
5. Connect to flow switch terminals on Aqua Rite low voltage terminal strip.
