In addition to the analogue channels of the injected quantities, it is also needed the measurement of one
voltage (either phase-to-neutral or phase-to-phase) from one voltage transformer that is connected to the
terminals of the generator. This voltage transformer provides the voltage measurements also to other
protection functions of the IED.
It is possible to connect two REG670 in parallel to one REX060 injection unit in order to
obtain a redundant scheme.
It is important that REX060, REX061 and REX062 cases are solidly earthed.
Avoid touching the enclosure of the coupling capacitor REX061 unit and the shunt resistor
REX062 unit. The surface may be hot during normal operation. The temperature can rise
50°C in REX061 and 65°C in REX062 above the ambient temperature.
6.3 Making of Ethernet connections
6.3.1 Connecting station communication interfaces

The numerical module (NUM) provides up to four Ethernet ports (one basic and three optional), and the
optical Ethernet module (OEM) provides two additional Ethernet ports. These ports are used for IEC
61850 or DNP3 communication. The serial communication module (SLM) provides four optical ports
which are used for LON, SPA, IEC 60870-5-103 or DNP3 communication.
• Ports X301 to X304 on the NUM module and ports X3061 and X3062 on the OEM module are used
for IEC 61850-8-1 and IEC/UCA 61850-9-2LE communication. Ports X301/X302 (1A/1B), X303/
