POWERGUARD Controllers Operators Guide
WIRELESS AUTO START EU70iS
Please refer to the following remote operation information;
BUTTON 1 Momentarily pressing button 1 will stop the engine immediately.
Operating this button also provides a delay inhibiting the unit being re-started for 15
seconds. This prevents the engine from back firing due to unburned fuel accumulating in
the exhaust chamber.
To override the re-start lockout period, press button 3 twice to initiate a re-start.
BUTTON 2 Toggles the state of the user-assigned relay. With this application, the
Eco throttle is controlled alternating between ON & OFF when operating via wireless
operation.
BUTTON 3 Momentarily pressing button 3 initiates a normal start sequence. This
cranks the engine for a normal start and run cycle. During the cranking cycle, the choke
servo is positioned to aid in starting the engine. Holding this button will prolong the
engine cranking time without over-choking the engine. When engine is hot starting,
holding this button will help the engine to start.
BUTTON 4 Holding button 4 cranks the engine for an extended start.
Note: Excessive engine cranking will discharge your battery and may damage the
equipment!
If you lose a key fob transmitter, you can still operate the machine normally. Purchasing a replacement is easy
however to use the replacement will require it and any existing transmitter fobs to be recoded to the WRSM receiver.
Please talk to your supplying dealer if required or call our support number for assistance.
Additional 2 Wire Operation
Included with the WASM Wireless Auto Start Module is the 2 wire auto start signal connection which is
located behind the battery service cover, these cables (voltage free) can be wired to a remote switch circuit via a T-Plug
connection. When this switch circuit is closed, the unit will operate (open circuit to stop machine). Should you wish to
have an Inverter/Charger operate the generator via ‘Low Battery Alarm’ or any form of 2 wire switching device, as long as
it is a ‘voltage free’ switch on to start and off to stop, it will operate in most applications.
PLEASE CONTACT US FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING THE 2 WIRE INTERFACE.
2 wire auto start control is a convenient way of switching your machine on and off at any number of wired locations,
independently. It is not restricted to just one local switch position. Voltage free (only) cables may be run to several
switching positions. Using normal wiring procedures such as two way switches & intermediate wiring, this process is not
difficult.
Battery Charging
Leaving the engine start key in the ON position will eventually cause the starting battery to become low in voltage,
particularly if not used on a daily or weekly basis, always turn the key to OFF when not in regular use. In situations
where the unit is in ‘Standby’ or as with ‘Mains Power Backup’ a small “maintenance type” battery charger or a suitably
sized “solar panel” regulated battery charger must be incorporated to prevent battery discharge!
*** Please Note*** Allowing the battery to fully discharge will have an effect on the Wireless Remote Start’s ability to
start your Honda EU70iS generator reliably and should be avoided where possible. In the advent of a total battery
discharge, care should be taken where battery jumping (paralleling battery connections) is performed, if you require
assistance, please contact your supplying dealer or Powerguard Controllers
