IGNITION SYSTEM INSPECTION
NOTE'
If
the re is no spark at plug, check all connections
for Joose or poor contact before meas uring each
peak
vo ltage.
Use recommended digital
multimeter or commer·
cia ll y available digi tal mult i me t er wi th an
impedance of 10 Mn/DCV mini mum,

Connect the peak voltage adapto r to the dig i tal
mu lt im eter, or use the peak voltage tester (U.S.A.
on ly).

Avoid to uching rhe spar l< plug and rester probes to
prevent electric shcx;l< .
NO TE:
Check all system connm:ti ons before inspection.
If the system is di sconnec ted . incorrect peak
voltage m ight be measur ed.
Check cylinder comp ression and check th at the
spark plug is installed co rr ectly.
Shift the transm i ssio n in to n eutral and disconnect
the spark
plug cap from t he spark pl ug .
Connect
a k nown good spark ptug to the sp ar1c plug
cap and ground the spark plug to the cylil1der as
do ne in a spark tes1.
