Confirming the HP XW8400 BIOS Config for Symphony Nitris
The 8400 workstation BIOS is re-programmed; some options must be verified to avoid any hardware conflict with
Avid Symphony Nitris.
•
The Symphony Nitris application will not load past initialising hardware. Error "The hardware configuration is wrong.
Check BIOS settings and ensure each PCI card is in the correct slot." You can click OK but another error appears that
says, "Problem detected initializing VDM: PCI-X HW bus improperly configured 0xA:"
•
You add a Storage Controller to the Workstation and get a "Low Memory Resources" error.
•
For the first two situations, confirm that PCI-X slot 5 is configured to run at 100 MHz:
Reboot the workstation.
At the Blue HP computer start-up screen, press F10 to enter the computer BIOS configuration.
After selecting your language of choice, use the keyboard arrow keys (up, down, left and right) to select
(highlight) the following option: Advanced > Slot5 - PCI-X 133.
Press Enter.
Using the arrow right or arrow left key, select 100MHz PCI-X M1.
Press F10 (to accept).
Press F10 again.
Select Save Changes and Exit, and press Enter (the computer now restarts).
