Setting up the Linksys EA9500 and EA9400
Smart Wi-Fi Routers
Setting up the Linksys EA9500 and Linksys EA9400 is made easy using the Smart Setup Wizard
which is embedded in the router's firmware and is available even if the router does not have an
Internet connection yet, or the router is on factory default settings.
NOTE: Before starting the setup, make sure that your router is ready. The router’s system boot up
time is approximately 90 seconds. You would know when the router is ready based on its top panel
LEDs. You will see eight (8) solid white bars with the Linksys logo. If the white bars are flashing
quickly, wait until they stay solid.
The following requirements should be met to avoid any problems during the setup process:
Computer Setup:
Latest version of Internet Explorer®, Google Chrome®, Mozilla Firefox®, Safari® (for Mac®
or iPad®), Microsoft Edge
Latest Adobe® Flash® Player
Step 1:
Connect your wireless computer to the default SSIDs which are Linksysxxxxx and
Linksysxxxxx_5GHz where xxxxx is the last five (5) digits of the serial number, while the wireless
password is randomly generated. These credentials are available on your Quick Start Guide and
also printed on the label at the bottom of the router.
NOTE: If you need to set up the router using a hardwired computer, connect your computer into one
of the eight (8) Ethernet ports at the back of the router.
Step 2:
Launch a web browser and enter “linksyssmartwifi.com” in the Address bar then press [Enter].
NOTE: You can also enter “192.168.1.1” or “myrouter.local”.
