Two (2) “AAA” size batteries (not included) can be used for the clock, radio preset and alarm memory backup as
follows:
1. Slide to remove the Battery Compartment door as on the bottom of the unit.
2. Insert two (2) “AAA” batteries into the Battery Compartment. Be sure to observe the polarity markings which are
engraved inside the battery compartment. Alkaline batteries are recommended for the longest playing time.
3. Slide the Battery Compartment door back on.
NOTE: The battery indicator will appear or blink in the display when there are no batteries, or when the batteries
are weak and need replacing.

AC CONNECTION
Turning the Unit On and Off:
Press the Power button x to turn the unit on. The Power indicator in the Power button will light and the previous
mode and volume level will be selected. Press the Power button x again to turn the unit off.
Using the FM Radio:
1. Turn this unit on by pressing the Power button x.
2. Press the Source button w repeatedly to select Radio mode; FM and the frequency will appear in the display.
3. Tune a station using the Tune 7 ak and 8 al buttons. For faster tuning, press and hold the Tune 7 ak and
8 al buttons; it will automatically stop when a strong station is found.
NOTE: Press the Tune 7 ak and 8 al buttons to fine tune stations with weak signals found during auto seaching.
FM Antenna: Unravel and extend the FM Antenna for best FM reception.
To adjust the main volume: Press the Volume + button am to increase or the Volume – button ao to decrease
the volume.
To turn the unit off: Press the Power button x.
Setting the FM Region:
This unit allows you to set the desired radio region. For region details, see chart below.
1. With the unit off, press and hold the Tune 8 button al until the region number appears in the display
(approximately 7 seconds).
2. Press one of the preset buttons corresponding the the desired region to set the Region.
RADIO REGIONS:
Region 1 – USA (Press Preset 1)
Region 2 – Europe (Press Preset 2)
Region 3 – Japan (Press Preset 3)
3. When done setting, press the Tune 8 button al or wait for 10 seconds. The region will be set and the region
number will disappear from the display.

BATTERY PRECAUTIONS
Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device:
1. Warning – Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
2. Use only the size and type of batteries specified.
3. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in the battery compartment. A reversed battery may cause damage to
the device.
4. Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline, Rechargeable and Carbon-zinc) or old batteries with fresh ones.
5. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
6. Do not try to recharge a battery not intended to be recharged; it can overheat and rupture. (Follow battery manufacturer’s directions.)
7. Remove batteries promptly if consumed.
8. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.
BATTERY INSTALLATION
Setting/Recalling FM Presets (Total 3 presets available):
1. To Set: Tune to a desired station as shown above, then press and hold the desired Preset button (1-3) u until
the preset number blinks in the display. Release the button and the preset will be set.
2. To Recall: Simply press and release the desired Preset button (1-3) u. The frequency of the selected preset
station will show in the display.
AUX IN Jack (Rear of Unit):
With the unit on, insert one end of the included audio cable into the LINE OUT jack on your external audio unit
and the other end into the AUX IN jack aq on the rear of this unit. Press the Source button w repeatedly to
select Aux mode; “Line In” will appear in the display. Start playback of the external unit and its audio output
sound will be heard through this unit’s speakers. If desired, rest portable player on the bumper.
To set or reset the actual time:
1. Press and hold the Set Time button v until the hour blinks in the display.
2. Repeatedly press the Volume + am and – ao buttons to set the correct hour.
3. Press the Set Time button v to confirm the hour setting and the minutes will begin blinking in the display.
4. Repeatedly press the Volume + am and – ao buttons to set the correct minutes.
5. Press the Set Time button v again and the time will be set.
6. Pressthe24/12buttony repeatedly to set 24 or 12 hour format. When in 12 hour mode, the AM or PM
indicator will light.
To set the alarm:
1. Press and hold the Set Alarm button W until the alarm hour blinks in the display. The alarm indicator will light.
2. Press the Volume + am and – ao buttonstosetthedesiredhour.MakesuretosetthecorrectAM/PMsetting
ifthe12/24buttony is set to 12.
3. Press the Set Alarm button W to save the alarm hour and the minutes will begin blinking in the display.
4. Repeatedly press the Volume + am and – ao buttons to set the desired alarm minutes.
5. Press the Set Alarm button W to save the alarm minute setting. The Buzzer indicator will blink in the display.
5a. TO WAKE TO THE BUZZER: Repeatedly press the Volume + am and – ao buttons to select Buzzer.
5b. TO WAKE TO THE RADIO: Repeatedly press the Volume + am and – ao buttons to select Radio.
6. Press the Set Alarm button W again to confirm.
7. Press the Volume + am and – ao buttons to set the volume level of the alarm.
8. Press the Set Alarm button W again to confirm. When the alarm time matches the current time, the alarm will
sound.
To turn the alarm off:
Toturnthealarmoff,simplypresstheAlarmOn/OffbuttonU. The alarm will turn off, but will remain set for the
nextday.Toturnthealarmoffsoitwillnotsoundthenextday,presstheAlarmOn/OffbuttonU again so the
alarm indicator disappears from the display.
Snooze:
Whilethealarmissounding,presstheSnooze/DimmerbuttonV. The alarm will turn back on automatically nine
minuteslater.Ifdesired,presstheSnooze/DimmerbuttonV again for another nine minutes after the original
Snooze time has been reached. You may repeat this process. To cancel the Snooze function, press the Power
button x.
Sleep:
With the unit playing the radio, or in Line-In mode, press the Sleep button an; “90” will show in the display, which
indicates the unit will turn off after 90 minutes. Repeatedly press the Sleep button an to select the desired Sleep
time. You may select from 90 to 10 minutes, in 10 minute increments. After about three seconds, the Sleep time
will disappear from the display. The unit will play for the selected Sleep time, then automatically turn off.
NOTE: To cancel the Sleep function, press the Sleep button an repeatedly until “OFF” appears in the display, OR
press the Power button x.
24/12 Hour Button:
Pressthe24/12buttony to cycle between the standard US 12 hour mode and the 24 hour Military time mode.
Display Dimmer:
Withthepoweroff,repeatedlypresstheSnooze/DimmerbuttonV to adjust the brightness of the display.
NOTE: When the unit is first turned on, the default setting for the dimmer will be the lowest setting.
USB Charging Jacks:
Connect a unit that charges via USB and charges at 1A to the USB1 jack bt or a unit that charges via USB and
charges at 500mA to the USB2 jack bk. See the owner’s manual that comes with the external equipment on
charging specifications. Some devices may require a special USB adaptor cable.
