  If your Olympus Microscope image lacks sharpness, contrast, or definition, several factors could be responsible: * The objective may not be correctly positioned. Try slightly rotating the nosepiece until it clicks. * The objective front lens might be dirty; clean it carefully. * If using an immersion objective, ensure you apply immersion oil, and that there are no bubbles present. Use Olympus immersion oil for best results. * Also, ensure that your specimen is clean.

  If the illuminator of your Olympus Microscope is too bright or too dark, consider the following: 1. Check that the voltage selector switch matches the mains voltage. Adjust if necessary. 2. The mains voltage may be too high or low. Use a variable voltage transformer to adjust it. 3. The rheostat trimmer screw may need adjustment. Adjust it correctly.
