Coolant
System
• Coolants under pressure have a higher boiling
point than that of water. DO NOT open a radiator
or heat exchanger pressure cap or break a system
while the engine is running, and in no case until
the system pressure has been bled off.
• Radiator fan belts are guarded for your protec-
tion.
DO NOT remove covers or guards.
•
Keep
your
hands
away
from
moving parts.
Ventilation
System
• Check remote radiators frequently. Remove any
dirt, debris, bird nests, etc.
• Check ventilation louvres.frequently. Make sure
that free-fall louvres and motor operated louvres
open and close properly and that there is no
restriction in the free-air flow.
Electrical
System
• The electrical installation exterior to your
generator should have been performed by
qualified licensed electricians. All local and state
codes should-have been consulted and complied
with.
It is essential that all load circuit breakers
adequately protect electrical functions, all cir-
cuits are properly grounded and wiring is correct
capacity.
Tag open'switches. "' '"'
DON'T tamper with interlocks.
Before starting work on the generating set,
disconnect batteries. This will prevent inadver-
tent starting of the set.
Use extreme caution when making adjustments
on the electrical components in the control
cabinet while theengine is running. High voltages
are present and could cause serious personal,
injury.
DO NOT SMOKE while servicing batteries. Verify
correct polarity of battery cables before connec-
ting.
Lead acid batteries give off a highly ex-
plosive hydrogen gas which can be ignited by
electrical arcing or by smoking. When connecting
batteries, connect the ground lead last.
