13. The wire interconnecting the devices is continuously supervised
and must be terminated with a 3.9K, 1/4W, EOL resistor (P/N
140-820186). All unused initiating zones must be terminated
with an EOL device.
14. For four-wire Class A type connection, install the EOL device at
the Class A module.
15. The maximum line resistance of a Class B circuit (2 wires) is 70
ohms for standard initiating circuits and 40 ohms if at least one
detector has a relay.
When a Class A circuit (4 wires) is used, the supervised initiating
circuit resistance must be no more than 70 ohms. For detectors
with relays or audible bases, a total of 40 ohms is allowed. For
wire resistance information, refer to the National Electric Code or
consult the manufacturer of the wire in question.
Notification Appliance Circuits (PPS-10, TB4)
1. The circuits on PPS-10, TB4 are for notification appliances only,
NFPA 72 Local.
2. All wiring must be in accordance with local and national codes.
3. All notification appliance circuits are power limited to NFPA 70
and NEC.
4. Electrical ratings:
Supervisory: 24 VDC nominal, 2.4mA max
Alarm: 24 VDC nominal, 2A max
5. Compatible Notification Appliances are listed in the Connection
Diagram.
6. Each NAC output is user programmable, refer to the Program-
ming Section of the manual for further information.
7. Terminate the circuit with a 10K, 1/2 watt resistor, P/N 140-
820396.
8. Maximum Cable Resistance:
Up to 1.5A
<3.0 ohms*
>1.5 to 2.0A
<2.5 ohms*
*The testing condition of all NAC devices is at the end of wire run. Refer to
AWG for length and resistance.
