Your SpeedStream
®
2105’s rear panel has five standard RJ-45 ports, plus a shared Uplink port. Each port
automatically detects the speed and duplex of the attached cabling to a network card, switch, hub, etc.
The ports operate in either full or half duplex mode.
Each port on your SpeedStream
®
2105 can connect to workstations, file servers, hubs, repeaters, bridges,
routers, or other switches. Connections to the 2105 require Category 5 UTP network cabling with RJ-45
connectors, not to exceed 328 ft (100 meters) in length.

Cabling Guidelines
Use Category 5 UTP cabling with four pair of wires and RJ-45 connectors for all 100 Mbps connections.
Use the chart below to position your switches, hubs, and workstations.

LED Indicators
LED indicators are provided for monitoring various network conditions. A glance at the front panel
allows you to instantly monitor the status of each station port plus the overall condition of the switch.

PWR On Power indicator
FDX/COL On Full duplex transfer mode
Flashing Port has detected data collision error
Off Half duplex transfer mode
LINK/ACT
Yellow On 100 Mbps connection is detected
Flashing Data is sending/receiving at 100 Mbps
Green On 10 Mbps connection is detected
Flashing Data is sending/receiving at 10 Mbps
