This

has
certain
features
designed
to

with
current
stan¬

recommended
for
added
protection
for
the
user.
These
features
include
the
chute

(Item

the

CHUTE
EXTENSION
The

extension
should
always
be

The
purpose
of
this
chute
is
to
keep
thrown
objects
near
the
ground
where
they
can
do
a
minimum
of
damage.
TRAILING
PLATE
The
trailing
plate
helps
prevent
accidental
contact
with
the
blade
from
the
rear
and
to
reduce
the
danger
from
objects
thrown
toward
the
rear
of
the
mower.
STARTING
FOOTPAD
Always
place
one
foot
on
the
starting
footpad
when
pulling
the
starting

be
sure
the
other

is
clear
of
the
mower.
This
will
help
pre¬
vent
dangerous
movement
of
the
mower
during
starting.
ROTARY
MOWERS
REQUIRE
CAREFUL
OPERATION.
These
fea¬
tures
reduce
the
hazards
much
below
the
level
of
earlier
machines,
but
they
are
not
a
complete
protection
and
do
not
eliminate
the
need
for
care
and
judgement
in
use
of
this
equipment.
MAINTENANCE
Keep
all
bolts
tight,
inspect

times
during
cutting

spark
plug
wire

from
end
of

Pull
starter
sharply.
A
spark
jumping
the
gap
should
be
visible.
If
no
spark
occurs,
magneto
system
is
probably
faulty.
Take
mower
to
your
service
station
for
repair.
Perform
this
check
in
shade
as
spark
may
not
be
visible
in
bright
sun.
BLADE
SHARPENING
Always
disconnect
spark
plug
wire
before
working
on
mower.
The
blade
may
be
sharpened
with
a
file
or
grinding
wheel.
Make
sure
blade
is
in
alance
before
use.
Balance
of
blade
may
be
determined
by
balancing
jlade
on
sharp
edge
or
hanging
on
string
or
wire
through
the
center
hole.
