THE SKYWALK TEAM
At skywalk, we are fascinated by the power of the wind. The interaction between wind and cloth
has excited the imagination of man for hundreds of years, resulting in the invention and testing
of new means of transportation again and again…
Because we are lucky enough to live in the 21st century, we have loads of technical possibili-
ties at our fingertips and every year new ones are invented. Whether it’s a paraglider
in the air, a surf kite on the water and in the air, or a sailboat in its element, all of these
sports have one thing in common: the wind is their driving force.
It’s our goal at skywalk to perfect the art of travel via wind power and to find new, undiscovered
ways to enjoy it. If we manage to transfer our enthusiasm for the elements air and water to our
products, then those who get their kick with air and water sports will profit too.
INTRODUCTION
The RANGE X-ALPS was conceptualized by the skywalk development team as a paraglider
harness for paragliding. Base-jumping, skydiving or the use of the RANGE X-ALPS as a clim-
bing harness with all of its variations is not appropriate for its intended use and is forbidden.
The RANGE X-ALPS harness is suitable for XC occasional pilots up to hike & fly competition
pilots who want to optimize their equipment in terms of weight and aerodynamics.
The geometry and the 3D seat construction of this harness support the pilot during long
XC flights while constantly giving direct feedback to the wing. To ensure a long life, the
materials used require careful, professional treatment.
The leg and chest straps are equipped with the so-called “get-up safety system” that
prevents the pilot from falling out of the harness. Safety has been improved by the perma-
nently filled foam protector (Mousse bag) that is integrated in the harness. This provides
additional protection to the pilot in the vent of a hard impact.
The RANGE X-ALPS can be flown with all paragliders as long as the paraglider manufac-
turer doesn’t require a special harness. Please consult your paraglider manual to see if
this is the case.
