Connect spark plug socket ();
check connection between ignition lead
and socket (#)
Clean/replace spark plug (), (#);
Adjust electrode gap (#)
Clean/replace air filter (#)
Remove spark plug and dry, set throttle
lever to Stop position and pull recoil
starter rope repeatedly with the spark
plug removed ()
Fault:
Starting problems or deteriorating engine
power
Possible cause:
Water in fuel tank and carburettor;
carburettor blocked
Contaminated fuel tank
Dirty air filter
Dirty spark plug
Remedy:
Empty fuel tank, clean fuel line and
carburettor (#)
Clean fuel tank (#)
Clean/replace air filter (), (#)
Clean/replace spark plug (), (#)
Fault:
Engine overheating
Possible cause:
Dirty cooling ribs
Oil level in engine too low
Surface of engine covered with earth
Remedy:
Clean cooling ribs (Ö 12.2)
Top up engine oil (Ö 7.15)
Remove earth from the engine
Fault:
Engine running roughly
Possible cause:
Dirty air filter
Remedy:
Clean/replace air filter (), (#)
Fault:
Heavy smoke formation

Oil level is too high

Adapt oil quantity ()

Excessive vibration during operation

Loose engine mounting

Reduced tilling performance

Hoes incorrectly mounted
Worn hoes
Brake spur incorrectly adjusted

Mount hoes correctly (Ö 7.7), (Ö 7.8)

Adjust brake spur (Ö 11.5)
Fault:
No tilling performance
Possible cause:
No folding retainer in drive shaft
Remedy:
Check attachment of hoes to drive shaft
(Ö 7.7), (Ö 7.8)
Fault:
Loud gearbox noise
Possible cause:
Incorrect gearbox oil level
Remedy:
Check gearbox oil level (#)
Fault:
Drive shaft does not rotate when self-
propulsion lever is actuated
Possible cause:
Cable defective
Worn drive belt
Remedy:
Check/replace cable (#)
