How to fix Troy-Bilt Chippers/Shredders engine that fails to start?
- HhvazquezAug 10, 2025
If your Troy-Bilt Chippers/Shredders engine fails to start, there are several potential causes. Ensure the throttle lever is in the FAST or START position. Check that the spark plug wire is connected securely to the spark plug. If equipped, make sure the choke is in the CHOKE position. The fuel tank may be empty or contain stale fuel, so fill it with clean, fresh gasoline. If your engine has a priming feature, prime it as instructed in the Engine Manual. Inspect the spark plug; clean, adjust the gap, or replace it if necessary. Lastly, if the engine is flooded, wait a few minutes before attempting to restart it, and avoid priming it again.
