− Keep the grass trimmer, the protective fixtures and the motor
housing free of dust and dirt.
− If possible, clean the grass trimmer after each use.
− Make sure that no water penetrates the motor housing.
Cleaning the grass trimmer
1. Make sure that the grass trimmer is switched off and disconnected from the mains.
2. If applicable, clean the grass trimmer with compressed air and at low pressure.
3. If applicable, remove any course deposits on the protective cover

with a brush.
4. Clean the motor housing

of the grass trimmer with a damp cloth and a small
amount of soft soap.
5. Use a clean cloth to rub off the grass trimmer.
Replacing the line spool
Any excess thread will be automatically cut to the maximum cutting diame-
ter the first time you use the machine and after replacing the line spool.
1. Make sure that the grass trimmer is switched off and disconnected from the mains.
2. Push on the side of the marked fields of the spool cover

and remove the spool
cover (see Fig.M).
3. Remove the line spool

(see Fig.N).
4. Insert the new line spool.
For this, run the ends of the thread for the new line spool through the loops of the
spool holder

(see Fig.O).
5. Put the spool cover back in place.
Storage
− Clean the grass trimmer as described in the chapter “Cleaning the grass trimmer”.
− Store the grass trimmer in a dry, dark, frost-free place out of the reach of children.
− The ideal storage temperature amounts to 5–30°C.
− Store the grass trimmer in the original packaging.
