(EPB) ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE
ON-OFF
(ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE)
**P-204 (Owners)
NOTE-
Can always be activated, even if the ignition is off.
To prevent draining the battery, avoid repeated cycles of the EPB
system when the engine is not running.
Driving with the parking brake on can overheat the brake system
and cause premature wear or damage to brake system parts.
(ON) TO ENGAGE-
1- Be sure the vehicle is at a complete stop.
2- Press the EPB switch momentarily.
3- The light will FLASH and then STAY ON when the EPB is fully
applied.
(OFF) TO DISENGAGE-
1- Turn the IGNITION ON (or) to ACC.
2- Apply and hold the brake pedal.
3- Press the (EPB) switch momentarily.
4- The EPB is released when the light is off.
AUTOMATIC (EPB) RELEASE
(ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE)
**P-206 (Owners)
AUTOMATIC (EPB) RELEASE-
Attempt is made to drive away. (Vehicle Running, Placed into
Gear, and an attempt drive away).
ENGAGED WHILE MOVING
(ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE)
**P-204 (Owners)
As long as the (EPB) switch is pressed, the EPB is applied and the
vehicle will decelerate.
If the switch is pressed until the vehicle comes to a stop, the EPB
will remain applied.
(EPB) LIGHT- (FLASHING)
(FLASHES CONTINUOUSLY)
**P-204 (Owners)
The EPB is only partially applied or there is a problem with EPB.
A DIC message will display.
Release the EPB and try to apply it again.
If light does on, or keeps flashing, have vehicle serviced
Do not drive the vehicle if the light is flashing.
(EPB) LIGHT- (STUCK ON)
(STAYS ON AFTER
DISENGAGEMENT)
**P-205 (Owners)
1- Pressing and Hold the EPB switch.
2- Continue to hold the switch until the light is off.
3- If light stays on after release is attempted, see Dealer.
