* SFP-10G-ZR modules are not supported on ports 1 to 32 in the back-to-front airflow model. They are supported on the
uplink module ports instead. In the back-to-front airflow configuration, limit usage of ZR optics to the uplink module only.

Wire-Speed Performance
The Cisco Catalyst 4500-X Series delivers wire-speed throughput on all ports up to 800 Gbps with a
performance of 250 Mpps for both Layer 2 and Layer 3 (IPv4). Switching performance is guaranteed regardless
of the number of route entries or Layer 2 and 3 services enabled. The hardware-based Cisco Express
Forwarding routing architecture on the new Cisco IOS XE Software allows for increased scalability and
performance.

Catalyst 4500-X, several major Cisco innovations such as Flexible NetFlow, Cisco® Easy Virtual Network (EVN),

visibility with enhanced monitoring, and robust Control Plane Policing.
Exceptional Resiliency
The Cisco Catalyst 4500-X Series offers redundant hot-swappable internal AC or DC power supplies for nonstop
operation. The 1 + 1 power supply design provides A-to-B failover when power supplies are connected to
different circuits. AC and DC power supplies can be mixed in the same unit for maximum deployment flexibility.
The Cisco Catalyst 4500-X Series also features five hot-swappable fans with N+1 redundancy for additional
serviceability.
