CALIFORNIA EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
TheCaliforniaAirResourcesBoardand MTDConsumerGroupIncare pleasedto explaintheevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyour2006 lawn
mower.In California,new lawnmowermustbedesigned,builtandequippedto meettheState'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupIncmust
warrantthe EECSonyour lawnmowerfor the periodof timelistedbelowp_ovidedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof yourlawnmower.
YourEECSmayincludepartssuchasthe carburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuellines,fuelcaps,valves,
canisters,filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Where a warrantablecondition exists, MTDConsumerGroupIncwill repair yourlawnmowerat no cost toyou includingdiagnosis, parts and labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfortwo years.Ifanyevaporativeemission-relatedpart onyourequipmentis defective,thepartwill be
repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupinc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As thelawnmowerowner,youare responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenancelistedin yourowner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroupIncrecom-
mendsthatyou retainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyour lawnmower,butMTDConsumerGroupInccannotdenywarrantysolelyfor the lackof receipts.
As thelawnmowerowner,youshouldhoweverbeawarethat MTDConsumerGroupIncmaydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyour lawnmoweror a parthasfailed
dueto abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youareresponsiblefor presentingyourlawnmowerto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenteras soonasthe problemexists.The
warrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountoftime,notto exceed30days.Ifyouhavea questionregardingyourwarrantycoverage,youshould
contacttheMTDConsumerGroupIncServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto theultimatepurchaserandeachsubsequentpurchaserthat the I_n moweris:Designed,builtand equippedso as to
conformwithall applicableregulations;andfreefromdefectsin materialsandworkmanshipthat causethefailureof awarrantedparttobe identicalinall material
respectsto that partasdescribedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthe datethelawn mowerisdeliveredto an ultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwoyears.
Subjecttocertainconditionsandexclusionsas statedbelow,thewarrantyon emission-relatedpartsis asfollows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthat is notscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritteninstructionssupplied,iswarrantedforthewarrantyperiod
statedabove,ifthe partfailsduringthe periodofwarrantycoverage,the partwillbe repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupIncaccordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledonlyfor regularinspectioninthewritteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedforthe warrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedfor the periodof time beforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor thatpart. ifthe partfails beforethefirstscheduledreplacement,the partwillbe repairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedorreplacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor theremainderofthe periodpriortothe
firstscheduledreplacementpointforthe part.
4. Repairorreplacementof anywarrantedpartunderthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedat a warrantystationat nochargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill beprovidedat allof our distributioncentersthatarefranchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Thelawnmowerownerwill notbechargedfor diagnosticlaborthatis directlyassociatedwith diagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,
providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedata warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupIncis liablefordamagesto otherengineorequipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby afailureunderwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmowerwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintaina supplyofwarrantedpartssufficientto meetthe expected
demandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpart maybeusedinthe performanceofanywarrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbeprovidedwithoutchargetothe owner.Suchusewill
not reducethewarrantyobligationsofMTDConsumerGroupinc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthatare notexemptedby theAir ResourcesBoardmaynotbeused.Theuseof anynon-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsbythe
ultimatepurchaserwill begroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroupIncwill notbeliabletowarrantfailuresofwarrantedpartscaused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepairorreplacementof anywarrantedpartotherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfromsuchwarrantycoverageif MTDConsumerGroup
Incdemonstratesthatthe lawnmowerhasbeenabused,negleded,or improperlymaintained,andthat suchabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenancewas the
directcauseof the needfor repairor replacementof the part.That notwithstanding,anyadjustmentof a componentthat hasafactoryinstalled,and properly
operating,adjustmentlimitingdeviceisstilleligiblefor warrantycoverage.Thefollowingemissionwarrantypartslistarecovered:FuelLine,FuelLineClamps
