1. INTRODUCTION
The General Alarm System Type GAS 3000 was developed and manufactured
according to the requirements and regulations of German Lloyd (GL), Lloyds
Register of Shipping (LRoS) and the German Marine Association (SeeBG).
Mounted on a vessel’s bridge the GAS 3000 automatically generates
the signal sequences for general alarm (7x short, 1x long)
or for abandonment of the vessel (short, long, short, long)
if this should become necessary in an emergency situation.
Other signal sequences can be given manually.
2. MANUAL ACTIVATION OF THE „GENERAL ALARM“ SIGNAL
All control elements are protected against unintentional activation.
To enable the control elements press the key button „UNLOCK“
which will then change its colour to orange.
The „General Alarm“ signal can now be activated by pressing the
button once and can be switched off by pressing it again.
Operation will be indicated by an internal buzzer and the
button flashing
according to the signal sequence.
It is possible to directly switch over to a different signal.
After about 30 seconds without further inputs the „UNLOCK“ key returns to its
blocked state and the colour turns to green again.
