Removing the Battery
WARNING: Before working inside your computer, read the safety information

Prerequisites
Follow the instructions from step 1 to step 7 in "Removing the Base Cover" on page 11.
Procedure
1 Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
2 Remove the screws that secure the battery to the palm-rest assembly.
3 Lift the battery off the palm-rest assembly.
4 Turn the computer over and open the display as far as possible.

Press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds to ground the system board.
