Making espresso
Please Note: rst use
Before using the appliance for the rst time, rinse the
internal piping thoroughly, operating it as you would
to make coee, until two tanks of water have emptied,
then proceed with making coee.
Pre-heating the coee machine
1. Turn the appliance on by rotating the selector dial
to the position (the relative indicator light
switches on) (g. 4) and attach the lter-holder
withtheemptyltertothemachine(g.5).Make
sure that the lter holder is correctly inserted into
the relative seat (g. 6).
2. Place a cup under the lter-holder. Use the same
cup in which the coee is to be served so that it can
be pre-heated.
3. Wait until the OK light comes on (g. 7) then
immediately rotate the selector dial to the
position (g. 8), allow the water to run until the OK
light switches o , then stop the water by rotating
the selector dial back to the position (g. 4) and
empty the cup.
(It is normal for a small, harmless pu of steam to be
released when the lter-holder is removed).
Making and espresso using ground coee
1. To prepare one coee, ll the lter with a level
measuring spoon of ground coee, about 7gr. (g.
9). If you wish to prepare two cups of coee, ll the
lter with two less-than-level measuring spoons
of ground coee (about 7+7 gr). Fill the lter
with small amounts at a time to prevent the coee
spilling out.
Attention:
For correct use, before lling the lter with ground coee
always make sure there is no residual coee in the lter
from the previous infusion.
2. Distribute the ground coee evenly and press it
lightly using the coee tamper (g. 10).
Pressing the ground coee is very important to
obtain a good espresso. If you press too hard, the
coee can run out slowly. If you press too lightly, the
coee can run out too fast.
3. Removeanyexcesscoeefromtherimofthelter-
holder and attach it to the machine: turning it fully
home to the right (g. 5) to prevent water from
escaping.
4. Position the cup or cups under the lter-holder
spouts (g. 11). It is recommended to warm the
cups before making the coee by running them
under hot water.
5. MakesurethattheOKlight(g.7)ison(ifitiso,
wait for it to switch on) and turn the selector dial to
the position (g. 8). Once the desired amount
of coee has been obtained, interrupt delivery by
rotating the selector dial back to the position
(g. 7). (It is recommended not to run the coee for
more than 45 seconds).
6. Turn the lter holder from right to left to release the
lter-holder.
Scalding hazard!
To prevent sprays, do not release the lter-holder while
the machine is dispensing coee.
7. To remove the used coee, lock the lter using
the lever in the grip and let the coee fall out by
knocking the over-turned lter-holder (g. 12).
8. To turn the appliance o, rotate the selector dial to
the position.
