Assembling

Drive shaft installation

1. Index bolt (M5 x 12). 2. Clamp bolt (M5 x 28). 3. Shaft tube. 4. Line.

5. Index hole.

 Stand the engine upright on a level surface.

 Remove the index bolt (M5 x 12).

 Loosen the clamp bolt (M5 x 28) at the connection between the engine and the shaft tube.

 Carefully fit the shaft tube to the engine, making sure that the power transmission shaft is

correctly engaged.

 Rotate the drive shaft housing until the bearing housing is in line with the engine, and the

index bolt hole aligns with the index hole in the shaft tube.

 Install the index bolt and tighten both bolts to fasten the drive shaft assembly.

U-handle installation

1. Handle assembling bracket (upper). 2. Handle assembling bracket (lower).

3. Handle assembling bolt (8 mm). 4. Washer. 5. To engine.

 Install handle assembling bracket (upper) in handle assembling bracket (lower) and fix

handle by tightening handle assembling bolt (8 mm) lightly.

 Adjust inclination of handle to adequate position (easy to operate) and tighten firmly handle

assembling bolt (8 mm).

1. Throttle grip. 2. Slot. 3. Stopper hole. 4. Screw (M5 x 30). 5. Nut.

 Loosen the screw (M5 x 30) of the throttle grip and remove the screw and nut.

 Slip the right-side handle into the throttle grip and fit it to the slot for rotation prevention.

 Locate the throttle grip so that the screw can pass through the stopper hole.

 Securely tighten the screw and nut.

1. Throttle cable. 2. Shaft tube. 3. Right hand U-handle. 4. Cable fixing clip.

 To eliminate loosening of throttle cable fix it to shaft tube (two places) and to right hand U-

handle (one place) with cable fixing clips.

1. Wire end. 2. Nuts. 3. Carburettor.

 Check that throttle operates freely and returns to idle position.

 Adjust the play of wire end on carburettor side to 1 - 2 mm.

NOTE

The line on the shaft tube must be in contact with the engine (arrow on shaft tube indicates

line).

CAUTION

 Install the handle so that it does not hide any of the safety decals.

 After assembly, adjust the play of wire end on carburettor side to 1 - 2 mm.

NOTE

Tighten the U-handle assembling bolt (8 mm) when it comes loose while mowing.
