Please read theentire instruction manual before using theproduct
and then save it for future reference. We reserve theright for any
errors in text or images and any necessary changes made to techni-
caldata. If you have any questions concerning technical problems

Safety
• This speaker can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of thedevice in asafe manner and if they
understand thehazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and
supervised. Keepthespeaker and its mains lead out of reach of
children under theage of 8.
• Thespeaker may be used by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capability, lack of experience or knowledge
which could jeopardise their safety, provided they have been
instructed in thesafe use of theproduct and understand
thehazards involved. Neverlet children play with thespeaker.
• Thespeaker should not be taken apart or modified. Nevertry to
open thespeaker’s casing. Certain uninsulated components
inside thehousing carry dangerous voltages. Contact with these
can lead to fire or electricshock.
• Do not cover thespeaker. Adequate ventilation, with adistance
of at least 5 cm between ventilation ports and surrounding
surfaces, is necessary to prevent thespeaker from overheating.
• Place thespeaker on astable, flat surface.
• Do not place thespeaker where it could fall into water or other
liquid. Donot place any objects containing liquid on thespeaker,
such as vases, drinks,etc.
• Do not place thespeaker in constant sunlight or near naked
flames such as wood stoves, lit candles,etc.
• Thespeaker is intended for indoor useonly.
• Never subject thespeaker to high temperatures, dust, heavy
vibrations, impacts, damp or moisture.
• Protect your hearing. Listening on high volume for prolonged
periods can lead to permanent hearingloss.
• Thespeaker must only be repaired by qualified service
technicians.
Care and maintenance
• Wipe thespeaker clean with adry cloth as and when required.
• Fully charge thespeaker battery every third month if it is not to
be used for alongtime.
• Store thespeaker in adry location when it is not inuse.
• Thebuilt-in speaker battery cannot be replaced.

Buttons and functions
5. Start playback on your device. Setthedesired volume levels
both on theexternal device and thespeaker. Usethecontrols on
your device or speaker to control playback.
Note: Ifyou are prompted to enter aPIN code on your device,
you should enter 0000 (four zeroes). Certain devices may also
require you to approve theconnection.
6. Thespeaker will automatically re-connect to thelast device it
was paired to, if thedevice’s Bluetooth is activated and within
thespeaker’srange.
7. If multiple Bluetooth commands occur simultaneously or is
disrupted in any other way to prevent automatic re-connection,
then re-connection must be done manually.
8. Hold in [ ] (6) for 3 seconds to deactivate thecurrent
Bluetooth connection and begin adevice search.
Handsfree headsets
• If you have your phone connected to thespeaker via Bluetooth
and receive acall whilst listening to music, thespeaker will
automatically interrupt music playback, play thering signal
of theincoming call and allow you to conduct your call over
thespeaker. Oncethecall has been ended, music playback will
be resumed (if your phone settings enable this).
• Press [
] (6) if you wish to answer or end acall.
AUX IN
• You can connect any chosen external audio source to
the3.5mm AUX IN socket (9). AnyBluetooth connection is
automatically switched off once anexternal device is connected
to the3.5 mm AUX IN socket.
• You will not be able to control playback on theexternal device
when connected to thespeaker’s AUX IN socket. Theplayback
can only be controlled using thecontrols on theexternal device
itself.
• A3.5 mm auxiliary cable is sold separately.
Bluetooth LED connection indicator (1)
• TheLED indicator will show aquick blue flashing pattern when
thespeaker is receptive for pairing with other Bluetooth devices.
• Theblue LED indicator will begin flashing every other second
once aBluetooth connection has been established.

disrupting thecurrent Bluetooth connection.

Operating instructions
Charging
• Fully charge thebattery before using thespeaker for
thefirsttime.
• Only use thesupplied chargelead.
• Connect theincluded charge lead to theBluetooth speaker’s
charge port (8) and to acomputer or other USB charger.
• TheLED indicator will shine red while thebattery is charging and
go out when thebattery is fully charged.
• When thebattery is almost fully discharged, thespeaker will emit
anaudible signal and then shutoff.
• Charging can take place with thespeaker on oroff.
Connecting an external Bluetooth device
1. Turn thespeaker on by setting the [ OFF/ON ] switch (7) to
theON position. TheLED indicator (1) will show aquick blue
flashing pattern which indicates that thespeaker is ready for
pairing with other Bluetooth devices.
2. Activate Bluetooth on thedevice to be paired with thespeaker.
3. Thespeaker will appear as BX51 on your device, select
this option to connect your device to thespeaker. Referto
theinstruction manual of your device for further clarification if you
are unsure.
4. Once contact has been established, theblue LED indicator (1)
will flash slowly every other second.
