Starting up
5.3 Setting up the floorstand model
if you are using a PRIMERGY TX1320 M4 server horizontally, skip this section
and continue reading ar section "Positioning the server horizontally" on
page 62.
V CAUTION!
Note the safety instructions in chapter "Important information" on
page 41.
Ê Transport the server to the place where you want to set it up.
Ê Unpack the server (see section"Unpacking the server" on page 58).
Ê Set up the server.
V CAUTION!
– The device must be protected from direct sunlight.
– The required minimum distances for operation and maintenance
areas must be adhered to.
– The server must be accessible at the rear for connection to other
devices (e.g. memory subsystem).
– The mains plug must be accessible easily and safely.
– There must be a clearance of at least 200 mm in front of and
behind the server to ensure adequate ventilation of the
subsystem.
Ê If applicable, install the stabilizers, see section "Installing the stabilizers" on
page 59.
Ê Connect the devices to the server, see section "Connecting devices to the
server" on page 64 and section "Notes on connecting/disconnecting cables"
on page 63.
Ê Connect the server to the mains, see section"Connecting the power cord" on
page 65.

V CAUTION!
If the server is positioned vertically, the stabilizers must be attached!
The stabilizers must be attached in the correct direction.
