Shoulder strap The shoulder strap (supplied) may be attached to the radio for
convenient carrying on the shoulder. When you get off a vessel,
put the shoulder belt around your neck so as not to drop the radio.
Attach the strap as shown in the figure below.
1. Attach the shoulder strap into the
Safety link
* attached to the radio.
2. Insert the shoulder strap into the
shoulder strap clip assembly.
3. Adjust the clip assembly to tighten
the shoulder strap.
4. Attach the other end of the strap
into the ring on the radio similarly.
(No safety link is on the other end.)
*Safety link: Instrument to prevent the
strap from being caught on
an object. About 35 to 45
kgf force is necessary to
release the Safety link from
the strap. The Safety link
facility is mandatory on all
IMO vessels for safety
purpose from July 1,
2005.The Safety link does
not come off if the radio is
dropped.
NOTE: Do not swing the radio by the strap.
