Overview

This document serves as a Use and Care Guide for two Hampton Bay products: the Highland Point Spring Club Chair (sold as a set of 4 chairs) and the Highland Point 34 In. Square Fire Pit.

Highland Point Spring Club Chair (4 Chairs)

Function Description: The Highland Point Spring Club Chair is an outdoor furniture item designed for residential use. It provides seating and is sold in sets of four. The "Spring" in the name suggests a design that may offer some degree of flexibility or comfort, possibly through a spring mechanism in the seating or frame. As outdoor furniture, it is intended for use in various weather conditions, though specific care instructions are provided to prolong its lifespan.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Item Numbers: #1002 665 130 / 1002 563 390 / 1002 563 392
  • Model Numbers: FG-TUL5PCFCALWC, FG-TUL5PCFCALBR (indicating different color or finish options, likely "White Cushion" and "Brown Cushion" or frame colors).
  • Warranty:
    • Frame Construction: 5-year limited warranty against structural failure during normal use (excluding damage from dropping or breaking cast parts).
    • Cushions: 1-year warranty against seams separating or tearing.
    • Fabric: 3-year limited warranty.
    • Finish: 1-year warranty against peeling, cracking, or blistering (provided the product has not been scratched or abraded).
    • Straps and/or Wicker Weave: 1-year warranty against separation or tearing.
  • Exclusions from Warranty: Unreasonable or abusive use, clearance/display/“as is” items, freight damage, acts of nature (vandalism, fire, abuse), lack of proper care/maintenance, improper assembly, normal fading of straps/fabric, discoloration from exposure to elements/chemicals, tabletop breakage, hardware corrosion/rusting, buckling/splitting of tubing from water/freezing, glass tabletops, purchased/replacement parts, plastics, lost time/money, inconvenience, travel, packaging, or consequential/incidental damages. Warranty is non-transferable and requires a dated register receipt.

Usage Features: The chairs are designed for outdoor residential use. The "Spring Club Chair" designation implies a comfortable and possibly somewhat flexible seating experience.

Maintenance Features:

  • Frame Cleaning: Use a wet towel with mild soap and water solution, then dry completely with a soft towel.
  • Cushion and Sling Seat Material Cleaning: Use a mild solution of soap and water. Hang cushions to drip dry completely.
  • Storage: Store cushions in a dry area during rain, and when not in use or in direct sunlight.
  • Washing: Do not machine wash or dry cushions.
  • Chemicals: Do not use bleach or strong solvents, as these will harm fabrics and metal finishes.
  • Discoloration Prevention: Exercise caution with oils, lotions, chlorine, or extreme weather exposure, as these can cause permanent fabric discoloration.
  • Protection: Cover the furniture with an outdoor furniture cover or store it in a safe, dry area when not in use for long periods.

Highland Point 34 In. Square Fire Pit

Function Description: The Highland Point 34 In. Square Fire Pit is an outdoor decorative gas appliance designed to provide warmth and ambiance. It operates on gas and features a burner, a steel fire pit bowl, and a control panel. It is certified to ANSI Z21.97/CSA 2.41-2014 standards for outdoor decorative gas appliances.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Item Numbers: #1002 665 130 / 1002 563 390 / 1002 563 392
  • Model Number: FG-TUL5PCFCAL-FP (likely indicating "Fire Pit").
  • Certification: ANSI Z21.97/CSA 2.41-2014 Outdoor Decorative Gas Appliances.
  • Warranty (1-Year Limited Warranty):
    • Fire Pits: Burner, steel fire pit bowl, all mechanical parts and fittings to control panel and burner assembly, and all fire pit tops (not cast aluminum) are warranted for one year against defects in material and workmanship. Rust is not covered.
    • Frames: Warranted for one year against defects in materials and workmanship. Damage from improper assembly, water/sub-freezing temperatures, dropping, acts of God, or acts of war is not covered.
    • Finish: Warranted for one year against peeling, cracking, or blistering, provided the product has not been scratched or abraded. Scratches, chips, and fading from normal wear/tear or exposure to elements are not covered. Stains from chemical spills or food items are not covered.
    • Table Tops: Warranted for one year against defects in material and workmanship. Breakage, discoloration, staining, or other weather-related issues are not covered.
  • Exclusions from Warranty: Similar to the chairs, exclusions include unreasonable/abusive use, clearance/display/“as is” items, freight damage, acts of nature, lack of proper care/maintenance, improper assembly, fading/discoloration from exposure to elements/chemicals, tabletop breakage, hardware corrosion/rusting, buckling/splitting of tubing, glass tabletops, purchased/replacement parts, plastics, and consequential/incidental damages. Warranty is non-transferable and requires a dated register receipt.

Usage Features: The fire pit is designed for outdoor use to create a decorative flame and provide heat. It uses gas as fuel. Users control the flame via a control knob. Lava rocks are typically used to cover the burner bowl, enhancing the aesthetic and heat distribution.

Maintenance Features:

  • Air Flow: Ensure air flow is unobstructed. Keep ventilation openings, controls, burner, and circulating air passageways clean.
  • Blockage Signs: Watch for gas odor with extreme yellow flame, fire pit not reaching desired temperature, excessively uneven flame, popping noises.
  • Spider/Insect Nests: Spiders and insects can nest in the burner or orifice; clean burner ports with a heavy-duty pipe cleaner or compressed air.
  • Carbon Deposits: Clean burner with warm soapy water if carbon deposits develop, as they can create a fire hazard.
  • Covering: Cover the fire pit with an outdoor weather cover when not in use.
  • Cleaning Agents: Use warm soapy water; avoid flammable or corrosive cleaning agents.
  • Burner Area: Keep the area around the burner dry at all times during cleaning.
  • Control Valve Assembly: DO NOT submerge the control valve assembly. If submerged, replace it.
  • Appliance Area: Keep clear of combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors/liquids.
  • Ventilation: Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air.
  • Cooling: Always allow the fire pit to cool completely before covering or attempting service/maintenance.

Troubleshooting:

  • Burner will not ignite:
    • Possible Causes: Frosted propane cylinder, blocked opening, control knob not in "ON" position, too many lava rocks covering burner bowl, or small pieces blocking burner ports.
    • Corrective Actions: Wait for cylinder to warm up, clear blockage, turn knob to "ON", remove/adjust lava rocks.
  • Burner flame is too low:
    • Possible Causes: Low gas pressure, outdoor temperature below 40°F with cylinder less than 1/4 full.
    • Corrective Actions: Turn off cylinder valve and replace cylinder, use a full propane cylinder, check burner ports for blockage.
  • Carbon build-up and/or thick black smoke:
    • Possible Causes: Dirt/film on reflector and burner screen, blocked burner.
    • Corrective Actions: Clean reflector/burner screen, remove blockage, clean burner inside and outside.
