DANGER:
Nevercutnearelectriccordsorlines.Ifbladejamson
anyelectricalcordorline,DONOTTOUCHTHEBLADE!
ITCANBECOMEELECTRICALLYLIVEANDVERYDAN-
GEROUS. Continue to hold the hedge trimmer by the
insulatedrearhandleorlayitdownandawayfromyou
inasafemanner.Disconnecttheelectricalservicetothe
damagedlineorcordbeforeattemptingtofreetheblade
fromthelineorcord.Contactwiththeblade,othercon-
ductivepartsofthehedgetrimmer,orliveelectriccordsor
lineswillresultindeathbyelectrocutionorseriousinjury.
WARNING:
Cleartheareatobecutbeforeeachuse.Removeall
objectssuchascords,lights,wire,orloosestringwhich
canbecomeentangledinthecuttingbladeandcreate
ariskofseriouspersonalinjury.
Beforestartingthehedgetrimmer,holdtheunitwithboth
handswiththecuttingbladesdirectedawayfromyou.
Alwaysusethehedgetrimmerproperly.
Donotforcethehedgetrimmerthroughheavyshrubbery.
Thiscancausethebladestobindandslowdown.Ifthe
bladesslowdown,reducethepace.
Donottrytocutstemsortwigsthatarelargerthan1in.

blade.Useanon-poweredhandsaworpruningsawto
trim large stems.
Ifbladesdobecomejammed,stopthemotor,allowthe
bladestostopandremovethebatterypackbeforeat-
temptingtoremovetheobstruction.
Ifdesired,youcanuseastringtohelpcutyourhedge
level.Decidehowhighyouwantthehedge.Then,stretch
apieceofstringalongthehedgeatthisheight.Trimthe
hedgejustabovethisguidelineofstring.Trimthesideof
ahedgesothatitwillbeslightlynarroweratthetop.More
ofthehedgewillbeexposedwhenshapedthisway,and
it will be more uniform.
Alwaysholdhedgetrimmerwithbothhandswhenoper-
ating.Useafirmgriponthehandles.Theunitisusedfor
cuttingineitherdirectioninaslow,sweepingactionfrom
side to side.
Weargloveswhentrimmingthornyorpricklygrowth.
Whentrimmingnewgrowth,useawidesweepingaction,
sothatthestemsarefeddirectlyintothecuttingblade.
Oldergrowthwillhavethickerstemsandwillbetrimmed
easiestbyusingasawingmovement.
MAINTENANCE

wet conditions. Store indoors in a dry area.Corrosive
liquids, water, and chemicals canenter the product’s
electroniccomponentsand/orbatterycompartmentand
damageelectroniccomponentsand/orthebatterypack,
whichcanresultinashortcircuit,increasedriskoffire,
andseriouspersonalinjury.Removeanybuildupofdirt
anddebrisbywipingtheproductcleanwithadrycloth
occasionally.
NOTICE:
Periodically inspect the entire product for damaged,
missing, or loose parts such as screws, nuts, bolts,
caps,etc.Tightensecurelyallfastenersandcapsand
donotoperatethisproductuntilallmissingordamaged
partsarereplaced.Pleasecontactcustomerserviceor
