OPERATION
LINE CUT-OFF BLADE
See Figure 13.
This trimmer is equipped with a line cut-off blade on the
grass deflector. For best cutting, advance line until it is
trimmedtolengthbythelinecut-offblade.Advanceline
wheneveryouhearthemotorrunningfasterthannormal,
orwhentrimmingefficiencydiminishes.Thiswillmaintain
bestperformanceandkeeplinelongenoughtoadvance
properly.
Thistrimmerissetatthe10in.cuttingswath.Toadjustto
acuttingswathof12in.:
Removethebatterypack.
Loosenthebladescrewthenrotatetheblade180°.
Tightenthebladescrew.
MAINTENANCE

debris by wiping the product clean with a dry cloth oc-
casionally.
NOTICE:
Periodically inspect the entire product for damaged,
missing, or loose parts such as screws, nuts, bolts, caps,
etc.Tightensecurelyallfastenersandcapsanddonot
operate this product until all missing or damaged parts
are replaced. Please contact customer service or an
authorizedservicecenterforassistance.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plasticsaresusceptibletodamagefromvarioustypesof
commercialsolventsandmaybedamagedbytheiruse.Use
cleanclothstoremovedirt,dust,oil,grease,etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petro-
leum-basedproducts,penetratingoils,etc.,comeincon-
tactwithplasticparts.Chemicalscandamage,weakenor
destroyplasticwhichcanresultinseriouspersonalinjury.
SPOOL REPLACEMENT
See Figures 14 - 15.
Use only 0.065 in. diameter round, 0.065 in. twisted, or
0.080in.twistedmonofilamentline.Useoriginalmanufac-
turer’sreplacementlineforbestperformance.
Removethebatterypack.
Pushintabsonsideofspoolretainer.
Pullspoolretaineruptoremove.
Removetheoldspool.
To install the new spool, make sure the line is captured
intheslotonthenewspool.Makesuretheendofthe
lineisextendedapproximately6in.beyondtheslot.
Install the new spool so that the line and slot align with the
eyeletinthestringhead.Threadthelineintotheeyelet.
Pullthelineextendingfromthestringheadsotheline
releasesfromtheslotinthespool.
Reinstallthespoolretainerbydepressingtabsintoslots
andpushingdownuntilspoolretainerclicksintoplace.
LINE REPLACEMENT

Removethebatterypack.
Removethespoolfromthestringhead.
NOTE: Removeanyoldlineremainingonthespool.
Cut a piece of line approximately 9 ft. long. Useonly
0.065in.diameterround,0.065in.twisted,or0.080in.
