POWERGUARD Controllers Operators Guide
WIRELESS AUTO START EU70iS
The following instructions are to be used as a guide to operating your
WASM (wireless automatic start module) control which has been fitted to
your Honda EU70IS generator.
Properly maintained in accord with your
Honda Owners Instruction Guide, this quality generator will provide many
years of service.
This controller has a line of site range of approximately 75 meters (free
field) which should be adequate for most operating applications. It has
been designed to add further convenience to the normal operation of
your machine.
For optimum range, maintain line of site to the machine. Large
structures, walls and other solids will diminish the Wireless Auto Start’s
ability to operate from a distance.
The wireless auto start is protected from the elements within the generator enclosure located behind the operator
consent panel. The Wireless Auto Start is a robust controller providing a reliable automatic starting operation where
remote starting/stopping control is required! Like all wireless controlled equipment, it requires a suitable antenna for the
receiver to understand when a start/stop is required. The antenna is usually mounted on the front of the operators
consent panel.
***Please Note*** The antenna should be protected from harm as it is crucial to the operation of the W.A.S, if the
generator is required to be housed within a metal type structure or be installed outside its reliable operating range, an
antenna coaxial extension can be used to remote the antenna thus improving its reception.
Your wireless auto start controller has been fully tested when installed by us but due to laws prohibiting the transport of
machinery containing hazardous materials, your generator may not contain fuel, oil or starting battery connected, please
check with your supplying Honda dealer if your machine has been pre-delivered or readied for operation.
To operate your EU70iS Honda generator locally - Before attempting to
manually start the machine, check engine oil and fuel levels as per the
manufacturers operating instruction. Use the generators key switch to switch on
the GCU, the LCD display will illuminate readying the machine for start. Press the
START button to operate the machine, as this machine utilizes fuel injection, there
is no choking system needed for cold starting or normal everyday operation.
Refer
to the manufacturers operating instruction for detailed information.
For Remote/Wireless operation - Ensure the generators key switch is in the ON position located front left of the
operators consent panel. This will switch the W.A.S controller to its standby mode, additionally the GCU display will also
illuminate for a short period of time but extinguish and go into sleep mode (5 mins). With the generator key switch in the
“ON” position, the W.A.S is ready to accept a signal from either of the key fob transmitters. Please refer to the key
fob transmitter operating detail next page.
To isolate all generator operation Disconnect all load, kill engine operation by turning the generators key switch
to the “OFF” position.
Refer to the manufacturers operating instruction for detailed information.
Circuit Protection - The W.A.S relies on the engines original protection fuse (5A) located beneath the Eco switch
behind the battery compartment service cover.
Further information about the replacement of the fuse can be accessed
via the generators operator handbook.
***PLEASE NOTE*** NEVER DISCONNECT BATTERY WHILST THE ENGINE IS RUNNING! ANY
RESULTING DAMAGE TO THE CONTROL IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY.
