Cleaning Fuel Sediment Cup
The sediment cup helps prevent fuel tank residue from
entering the carburetor.
Clean fuel sediment cup at the intervals specified in
Table 2.
To clean fuel sediment cup:
1. Stop engine if it is running. Allow to completely cool.
2. Place the generator on a flat, level surface.
3. Turn fuel shut-off valve to OFF position.
4. While holding the fitting above the fuel shut-off valve
with a 22 mm open end wrench, remove the fuel sedi-
ment cup assembly (sediment cup, o-ring, and fuel
screen) using a 10 mm box wrench.
5. Clean fuel screen (A), o-ring (B), and sediment cup
(C), with soap and water.
6. Rinse parts thoroughly with water.
7. Wipe pieces clean with clean, dry cloth.
8. Reinstall sediment cup, o-ring, and fuel screen.
9. Turn fuel shut-off valve to ON position.
10. Start generator and check for leaks.
Spark Plug Service
To ensure proper engine operation, spark plug must be
properly gapped and free of deposits.
Recommended Spark Plug Replacement: 100842A

1. Stop engine if it is running. Allow to completely cool.
2. Place the generator on a flat, level surface.
3. Remove spark plug cap.
4. Clean any dirt from around spark plug base.
To clean fuel sediment cup, you will need:
10 mm box wrench
22 mm open end wrench
Household soap and water
Clean, dry cloth

If engine has been running, the spark plug will
reach temperatures that could cause severe burns.

To service spark plug, you will need:
Clean cloth
13/16” spark plug socket wrench
New spark plug (if existing spark plug is exces-
sively worn or damaged)
Wire brush
Spark plug gauge (for setting spark plug gap)
