Optane memory module
IMPORTANT: The Optane memory module is installed into the M.2 connector that is used by M.2 solid-state
drives. You cannot install both an Optane memory module and a solid-state drive in the computer.

Before removing the Optane memory module, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the optical drive (see Optical drive on page 33).
5. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 37).
6. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 40).
Remove the Optane memory module:

Remove the Phillips M2.0×3.0 screw (1), and then pull the solid-state drive module from the socket (2).
Reverse this procedure to install the Optane memory module.
