Overflow
When
the
number
in
the
display
would
be
greater
than
9.9999959
x
10%,
the
HP-25
displays
all
9’s
to
indicate
that
the
problem
has
exceeded
the
calculator’s
range.
For
example,
if
you
solve
(1

10%)
x
(1
x
10%%),
the
HP-25
will
display
the
answer:

But
if
you
attempt
to
multiply
the
above
result
by
100,
the
HP-25
display
indicates
overflow
by
showing
you
all
9’s:

Error
Display
If
you
happen
to
key
in
an
improper
operation,
the
word
Error
will
appear
in
the
display.
For
example,
try
to
divide

by
0
(the
HP-25
will
recognize
this
as
an
improper
operation):
