Overflow
When
the
number
in
the
display
would
be
greater
than
9.9999959
x
10%,
the
HP-25
displays
all
9’s
to
indicate
that
the
problem
has
exceeded
the
calculator’s
range.
For
example,
if
you
solve
(1
X
10%)
x
(1
x
10%%),
the
HP-25
will
display
the
answer:

But
if
you
attempt
to
multiply
the
above
result
by
100,
the
HP-25
display
indicates
overflow
by
showing
you
all
9’s:

A
display
of

Jindicates
that
one
of
the
calculator’s
storage
registers
has
overflowed.

storage

Error
Display
If
you
happen
to
key
in
an
improper
operation,
the
word
Error
will
appear
in
the
display.
For
example,
try
to
divide
1
by
0
(the
HP-25
will
recognize
this
as
an
improper
operation):

clear
the
error
by

or
by
keying
another
number
into
the
displayed
X-register.
