This document is a Quick Reference Guide for the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid, providing essential information on its features, controls, infotainment, driving aids, and maintenance.

Voice Recognition Tips (if equipped)

The guide provides commands for Bluetooth voice recognition and navigation. For Bluetooth, users can "Dial <Phone #>" (e.g., "Dial 7-1-4-9-6-5-3-0-0-0") or "Call " (e.g., "Call John Smith"). To optimize performance, it's recommended to use full names for contacts and avoid special characters or abbreviations. For navigation, commands include "Find Address <House #, Street, City, State>" (e.g., "1-2-3-4-5 1st Street, Fountain Valley") and "Find " (e.g., "Find McDonald's®").

Windshield Wiper / Washer

The windshield wiper/washer system is controlled by a lever.

  • MIST: For a single wiper pass, push the lever up.
  • OFF: Wipers are off.
  • INT (Intermittent): To activate intermittent wipers, move the control switch to this position. The speed can be adjusted by moving the speed control switch.
  • LO (Low): For low wiper speed.
  • HI (High): For high wiper speed.
  • Washer: To spray washer fluid, pull the lever towards you. This will also run the wipers 1-3 cycles.

Unlocking Vehicle

The vehicle can be locked and unlocked using the remote key.

  • LOCK: Locks the vehicle.
  • UNLOCK: Unlocks the vehicle.
  • Engine remote start button: Press and hold for over 2 seconds within 4 seconds after locking the doors to remotely start the engine.
  • Trunk Unlock: Unlocks the trunk.
  • Panic: Activates the panic alarm. The mechanical key can be removed by sliding and holding the release button. To unfold the mechanical key, press the release button on the remote. User-selectable options for the mechanical key are available in section 5 of the Owner's Manual. For the driver's door, press the button on the outside handle to unlock. For touch sensor types (if equipped), touch the inside part of the handle for at least 1 second to unlock. To lock, press the button or touch the outside handle. Caution: If the door is locked with the touch sensor, it cannot be unlocked with the sensor within 3 seconds. If unlocked with the touch sensor, it cannot be locked with the sensor for up to 2 seconds.

Maintenance Schedule

Steering Wheel Adjustments

  1. Pull the lever down.
  2. Set the angle and distance.
  3. Pull the lever up to lock position. Note: Do not adjust while driving.

Driver's Main Controls

  • Outside Rearview Mirror: Move the lever towards L (left) or R (right) on the switch, then adjust the mirror using the mirror adjustment control switch.
  • Door Lock: Locks/unlocks all doors.
  • Window Auto down/up (if equipped): Press past detent to fully open/close window.
  • Power window lock button: Disables the power window switches on the rear passenger doors.

Front Seat Adjustment (Manual)

  • Forward and Backward: Adjust the seat forward or backward.
  • Seat Height (for the Driver's Seat): Push down the lever several times to lower the seat cushion; pull up the lever several times to raise it.
  • Seatback Angle: Adjust the seatback angle.

Front Seat Adjustment (Power, for the Driver's Seat)

  • Forward and Backward: Adjust the seat forward or backward.
  • Seat Height: Adjust the seat height.
  • Seatback Angle: Adjust the seatback angle.
  • Lumbar Support (driver's seat only): Adjust lumbar support.

Headrest Adjustment

  • To Raise Headrest: Pull headrest up.
  • To Lower Headrest: Press lock button while pressing down on headrest.
  • Forward and backward adjustment (if equipped): To move headrest forward, pull headrest forward. To move headrest backward, pull headrest fully forward and release it.

Seat Belt Adjustment (Front seat)

  • To Raise: Pull up to raise.
  • To Lower: Press button and push down to lower.

Seat Warmer

  • Press the button to increase heat.
  • Settings: OFF → HIGH (■) → MED (■) → LOW (■).

Smart Trunk

The trunk will slightly open automatically when detecting the smart key within range near the trunk for more than 3 seconds.

To enable Smart Trunk function:

  1. Vehicle must be in P (Park) to adjust settings in the User Setting mode.
  2. Select "Door/Trunk" in the User Settings in the instrument cluster.
  3. Check "Smart Trunk". Note: Function is active after 15 seconds when all doors are closed and locked and the key is not detected. The vehicle will also provide an audible and visual alarm while activating. Refer to the Owner's Manual for more details.

Trunk Opening

The trunk can be opened using:

  • Key FOB / Smart Key: Press and hold the trunk unlock button on the remote key FOB or Smart Key for about 1.5 seconds.
  • Trunk Release Lever: From inside the vehicle, pull the trunk release lever.
  • Button under the emblem: Press the trunk release button under the emblem.

Fuel Filler Door

To open fuel filler door:

  1. Turn the engine off.
  2. Pull up the fuel filler door opener from inside the vehicle.

Sunroof

  • Sunshade: The sunshade will open automatically with the sunroof when the glass panel moves. To close it, move the sunshade manually.
  • Sliding the sunroof: Pull the sunroof control lever backward to open the sunroof (this also opens the sunshade if not in the open position). Push the lever forward to close the sunroof.
  • Tilting the sunroof: To open, push and hold the sunroof control switch upward to tilt the sunroof. To close, push and hold the sunroof control switch forward to close the sunroof.

Interior Lights

  • Interior Light ON position (1): Press the switch to the left to turn on the map lamp (4) and room lamp (5).
  • Interior Light OFF position (2): Press the switch to the right to leave the map lamp (4) and room lamp (5) off.
  • Door Mode Position (3): When the switch is in Door Mode Position (not pushed), the map lamp (4) and room lamp (5) turn on if any door is opened and turn off after all doors are closed.
  • Map Lamp Switch (Lens Switch) (4): Press the lens to turn on and off for each side of the map lamp.
  • Room Lamp Switch (5): Press the switch to turn on and off the room lamp.

Headlights

  • Headlight (D): Turns on headlights.
  • Parking light (⇨): Turns on parking lights.
  • Auto light (AUTO): Automatically turns on/off headlights based on ambient light.
  • OFF (OFF): Turns off headlights.
  • Headlight Delay: Headlights may stay on for 15 seconds after exiting and locking the vehicle. Press the remote lock button twice to turn headlights off.
  • Turn signals and lane change signals (A/B): Move the lever up or down for turn signals.
  • High beam: Push the lever away from you to turn on high beams. Pull the lever towards you to turn off high beams.
  • High Beam Assist:
    1. Select AUTO position on the lever.
    2. Turn on the high beam by pushing the lever away from you. The High Beam Assist indicator will illuminate.
    3. High Beam Assist will turn on when vehicle speed is above 25 mph.
    4. To turn off High Beam Assist, push the lever forward.

Instrument Panel Illumination

Press - or + to adjust instrument cluster illumination brightness.

Main indicators in cluster for Hybrid Vehicle

  • Ready indicator: Illuminates when the vehicle is ready to be driven. If it goes off or blinks, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
  • EV mode indicator (EV): Illuminates when the vehicle is driven by the electric motor.
  • Service warning light (! HEV): Illuminates if there's a problem with the hybrid vehicle control system. Have the vehicle checked by an authorized Hyundai dealer.

Vehicle Power Gauge

Indicates whether the current driving condition is fuel efficient.

  • CHARGE: Energy made by the vehicle is converted to electrical energy (regenerated energy).
  • ECO: Vehicle is being driven in an Eco-friendly manner.
  • POWER: Vehicle is exceeding the Eco-friendly range.

Hybrid Battery SOC (State of Charge) Gauge

Indicates the remaining hybrid battery power. If the SOC is near "L (Low)", the engine automatically operates to charge the battery.

Hybrid System Modes

Select the Hybrid Icon on the home screen.

  • Energy Flow Mode: Displays the energy flow from the engine and battery.
  • Fuel Economy Mode: Displays average fuel economy. The graph shows fuel economy for the last 30 minutes, updated every 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Volt Battery Reset Switch

If the door is locked, use the manual key to enter the vehicle after removing the lock access cover.

  1. Press the lever located under the cover with the mechanical key.
  2. While pushing the lever, slowly push it towards the rear of the vehicle and remove the cover.
  3. After removing the cover, only the driver's door can be locked or unlocked using the mechanical key.
  4. Turn the key toward the rear to lock and toward the front to unlock. This vehicle has a 12V battery integrated into the lithium high voltage battery assembly. It's protected against current draw when SOC reaches 12.8V 10%. The 12V Battery Reset Switch must be activated to start the vehicle. If the Start/Stop button doesn't respond:
  5. Press the 12V Battery Reset switch to reconnect the 12V battery.
  6. Start the vehicle within 15 seconds of pressing the switch.
  7. After starting, operate the vehicle safely outdoors stopped and/or drive for 30 minutes to fully charge the 12V battery. If reset doesn't work due to over-discharge, try jump-starting. Refer to the Owner's Manual for more information.

Manual Climate Control

  1. Fan Speed Control Knob: Adjusts fan speed.
  2. Temperature control knob: Adjusts temperature.
  3. Mode selection knob: Selects airflow direction.
  4. Front windshield defroster position: Directs air to the windshield.
  5. Rear Window Defroster Button: Activates/deactivates rear defroster.
  6. Air intake control button: Toggles between recirculated and fresh air.
  7. A/C (Air conditioning) button: Turns A/C on/off.
  • Defogging / Defrosting:
    1. Select Front Windshield Defrost Mode.
    2. Select warmest temperature.
    3. Set fan speed to medium. Note: Keep the interior surface of the windshield clean and select fresh air position to reduce fogging.
  • Air intake control:
    • Recirculated air position: Recirculates interior air.
    • Outside (fresh) air position: Draws in fresh air.
  • Mode selection: Changes airflow direction (Face-Level, Bi-Level, Floor-Level, Floor & Defrost-Level, Defrost-Level).
  • Rear Window Defroster: Press to activate/deactivate.
  • A/C MAX mode: Automatically engages recirculated air and A/C. Return to normal A/C mode after the interior cools.

Automatic Climate Control

  1. Driver's temperature control knob: Adjusts driver's side temperature.
  2. Passenger's temperature control knob: Adjusts passenger's side temperature.
  3. AUTO (automatic control) button: Activates automatic control.
  4. SYNC button: Synchronizes driver and passenger temperatures.
  5. OFF button: Turns off the system.
  6. Front windshield defroster button: Directs air to the windshield.
  7. Air conditioning button: Turns A/C on/off.
  8. Air intake control button: Toggles between recirculated and fresh air.
  9. Rear window defroster button: Activates/deactivates rear defroster.
  10. Fan speed control button: Adjusts fan speed.
  11. Mode selection button: Selects airflow direction.
  12. Climate control information screen: Displays climate information.
  • Defogging / Defrosting:
    1. Press the defrost button.
    2. Select warmest temperature.
    3. Set fan speed to highest. Note: Keep the interior surface of the windshield clean and select fresh air position to reduce fogging.
  • System off: Pressing OFF turns off the system, fan, and selects outside air. Vented air will be at the last set temperature.
  • Air intake control:
    • Recirculated air position (LED ON): Recirculates interior air.
    • Outside (fresh) air position (LED OFF): Draws in fresh air.
  • Mode selection: Changes airflow direction.
  • Automatic heating / Air conditioning (AUTO): Automatically controls heating/cooling.
  • Auto fan speed control:
    1. Fan speed is controlled automatically in 3 settings (HIGH, MEDIUM, LOW).
    2. Pressing AUTO activates AUTO function and changes fan speed setting.
    3. Settings: HIGH → MEDIUM → LOW.
    4. If temperature is set to 'HI' or 'LO', fan speed setting will be 'HIGH'.

Bluetooth Phone Pairing

Pairing tutorials, phone compatibility, and operational tips can be found via QR code.

Phone setup (pairing phone):

  1. Turn Bluetooth® on your mobile phone (Menus > Setup > Device Connections > Bluetooth > Bluetooth Connections > Add New).
  2. Select the function to connect.
  3. Turn on Bluetooth on the device and select the vehicle system from searched devices.
  4. Bluetooth is connected. Note: Vehicle must be parked to complete pairing.

Bluetooth® Operational Tips

  • Keep Bluetooth® volume low to avoid distortion/echo.
  • Avoid high speeds, rough roads, open windows, or max A/C fan speed when using Bluetooth.

Steering wheel bluetooth® control:

  1. TALK: Activates voice recognition.
  2. CALL: Places and transfers calls.
  3. END: Ends calls or cancels functions.
  • To Answer a Call: Press button on the steering wheel.
  • To Reject a Call: Press button on the steering wheel.
  • To Adjust Ring Volume: Use VOLUME buttons on the steering wheel.
  • To Transfer a Call to the Phone (Private call on handset – do not use while driving): Press and hold button on the steering wheel until audio system transfers call to phone.
  • To Finish a Call: Press button on the steering wheel.
  • Making a call using voice recognition:
    • Calling by Name:
      1. Press button.
      2. Say "Call " or "Call on <on Mobile/at Work/at Home>".
    • Dialing by Number:
      1. Press button.
      2. Say "Dial Number".
      3. Say desired phone number.

Audio Mode

Press POWER button to turn radio on.

  • Tuning/Listening to Channels:
    1. Press RADIO button.
    2. Press SEEK or TRACK button to desired channel. Note: A clear view of the southern sky is recommended for SXM radio reception.
  • Setting Preset Memory Buttons (FM/AM/SXM): Press and hold any preset button until an audible beep is heard to store current channel.
  • Adjusting the Sound Control:
    1. Press SETUP button.
    2. Select Sound button on screen.
    3. Touch on-screen arrows to adjust desired setting. Note:
    4. Users can set volume level for each source (FM, AM, SXM, USB, BT, etc.) individually by adjusting the "A" knob.
    5. Volume settings are automatically saved for each source.

Steering Wheel Audio Control

  1. VOLUME: Raises or lowers speaker volume.
  2. SEEK/PRESET: Changes station.
  3. MODE: Changes the audio source.

AM/FM Radio

  • Radio Noise Control Mode:
    1. Press Menu button.
    2. Press FM Radio Noise Control button.
    3. Select Radio Noise Control Mode (Original Sound, Minimum Noise Reduction, Maximum Noise Reduction). Default is Minimum Noise Reduction.

Basic features on the map screen:

  1. Displays the Home screen.
  2. Used to change the map display mode.
  3. The scale of the map automatically changes.
  4. You can adjust the volume of navigation or GPS warning sound.
  5. Displays the point to change the driving direction.
  6. Displays the next point to change the driving direction.
  7. Displays the lanes in different colors.
  8. Displays quick menu items that can be used during guidance.
  9. Can pause or cancel the route guidance.
  10. Displays the remaining distance to the destination and estimated time of arrival.
  11. Displays or hides the detailed guidance.
  12. Displays the system information on the map. Note: To stop route guidance, press Pause Route.

Destination search screen:

  1. Returns to the previous step.
  2. You can change Navigation-related settings.
  3. Search for a location by entering keywords (place name, address).
  4. Search for POIs by category.
  5. Select any of previous destinations.
  6. Register the location or use the address book.
  7. Easily search for Hyundai Dealerships.
  8. Cancel guidance to the destination.
  9. See the entire route information.
  10. Edit the current route via waypoints.
  11. Change route search criteria to resume routing.

Wireless Cellular Phone Charging System (if equipped)

A wireless charging system is inside the front console. It operates when all doors are closed and ignition is in ACC/ON. A cooling fan prevents overheating.

Using the Wireless Phone Charging System:

  1. Place a compatible (Qi enabled) device on the center of the charging pad.
  2. Wireless charging symbol appears on the audio display.
  3. If the symbol doesn't appear, adjust device location.

Note:

  • Less efficient than cable charging, higher device operating temperatures.
  • Thick phone cases may affect charging speed.
  • Do not place credit cards or magnetic media on the pad to avoid damage. Avoid metallic objects to prevent impeding charging performance.

USB Data/Smartphone Port

  • Used to connect external audio devices.
  • Used to access Android Auto or Apple Car Play with compatible phones.
  • Insert USB charger into the USB charging port to recharge smartphones or tablet PCs.
  1. Press and release button 1, 2 or 3.
    • If indicator 7 is ON in Orange, go to Step 3 (programming mode).
    • If indicator 7 is continuously ON or flashes in Green rapidly, go to Step 2 (erasing mode).
  2. Press and hold the button you wish to program for 15-25 seconds until LED flashes in Orange.
  3. Hold the Garage Door Opener Original Transmitter near the HomeLink Mirror.
  4. Press the Original Transmitter button until indicator 7 is continuously ON or flashes in Green for 10 seconds, indicating programming is complete. Note: If indicator 7 flashes Green continuously but garage door opener doesn't operate, follow Rolling Code Programming steps.   • Indicator 4 & 6: Flashes in orange → "Closing" & "Opening"; Solid Green → "Closed" & "Opened". Note: If your garage door opener has Two-Way Communication functionality, HomeLink may stop functioning if programming wasn't properly completed. Complete "Programming a New HomeLink Button" and "Two-Way Communication Programming" to restore operation.

Rolling Code Programming:

  • You may need a ladder and help from a second person. Steps are time sensitive.
  1. Firmly press and release the “Learn”, “Smart”, or “Program” button of the garage door opener on the ceiling while the indicator flashes in Green. You have 30 seconds to initiate the next step.
  2. Return to the vehicle and firmly press the HomeLink button, hold for two seconds and release, up to three times. Do not press rapidly. Programming is complete. For more detailed information, refer to Owner's Manual or visit www.homelink.com or call (800) 355-3515.

Android Auto™

Requirements: USB cable, OS Android™ 5.0 or higher, compatible Android Phone, data and wireless plan.

Before you begin:

  • Features may operate differently than on your phone.
  • Message and data charges may apply.
  • Relies on phone performance (restart apps, disconnect/reconnect phone).
  • Use USB cable provided with phone.
  • In-vehicle voice recognition disabled when Android Auto is active; use Google™ voice. Phone setup: Turn on Bluetooth® on phone and connect micro USB cable to phone and vehicle USB port. Phone will prompt to download Android Auto app and update other needed apps. Note: Vehicle must be parked. Location mode setting should be set to High accuracy. Car and phone setup should be completed in one sitting. If phone setup needs to be resumed, force stop Android Auto app, reopen, and accept disclaimers.

Car setup:

  1. Press SETUP button on radio.
  2. Touch “Device Connections” icon.
  3. Select Android Auto.
  4. Select Enable Android Auto.
  5. Connect Android phone to vehicle USB port. Agree to notifications/disclaimers. Android Auto icon will appear. For more information, refer to display audio or navigation manual. For additional support, refer to Android Auto Support Website: https://support.google.com/androidauto/.

Android Auto™ Wireless (if equipped)

Requirements: Compatible Android Phone that supports Android Auto Wireless, data and wireless plan, Bluetooth & Wifi enabled.

Before you begin:

  • Can be set up with Wi-Fi and USB Chord.
  • Refer to previous page for more details. Phone setup: Turn on Bluetooth and Wifi on phone. Download Android Auto App and update other needed apps. On your smartphone: Activate Bluetooth and Wifi. Search for vehicle on Bluetooth device list. Select vehicle. Confirm Bluetooth passkeys match touch screen display. Read and accept prompts from touch screen display. Note: If smartphone is already in Bluetooth list, delete it first, then add to phone projection list. Smartphone will also register to Bluetooth after registering to Phone Projection. Connect to Android Auto: On Home Screen, select All Menus > Android Auto.

Car setup:

  • Activate Wireless Connectivity: On Home Screen, select All Menus > Setup > Wi-Fi > Use Wi-fi Connection.
  • Pairing Smartphone With Phone Projection: On Home Screen, select All Menus > Setup > Device Connections > Phone Projection > Add New.

Siri will automatically ask ‘Who would you like to call’. Note: Phone call sound quality depends on wired connection. Use Lightning cable. Apple Music: Touch APPLE MUSIC 6 icon to access Apple Music screen. Apple Maps: Touch APPLE MAPS 7 icon to access Apple Map screen. Messages: Touch MESSAGES 8 icon to access Message screen. Siri will automatically ask ‘To hear unread messages or create a new one’. 3rd Party Apps: Supported CarPlay apps downloaded on phone will appear on CarPlay screen. Touch icons to access apps. Note: List of supported CarPlay apps at http://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/. Ensure phone has latest version of 3rd Party Apps.

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)

Detects lane markers and helps prevent vehicle from departing lane.

  • To turn LKA on: Press Lane Safety button.
  • To turn LKA off: Press button again.
  • LKA settings can be adjusted in Vehicle Settings menu (Driver Assistance > Lane Safety). LKA operates when vehicle speed is above 40 mph. Indicator illuminates green when conditions met. Refer to Owner's Manual. Note: You may feel steering wheel movement during operation.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)

Detects and monitors vehicle ahead, warns driver of imminent collision. Includes pedestrian detection. Cyclist detection available on vehicles with front view camera and front radar sensor. To operate FCA: Select Forward Safety sub menu in LCD cluster display or infotainment system (Setup > Vehicle Settings > Driver Assistance > Forward Safety). Refer to Owner's Manual.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)

Helps avoid collisions with rear side vehicle when changing lanes. When turn signal is used, if collision risk, BCA provides warning or controls vehicle.

  • Collision warning: Operates when vehicle speed is above 12 mph and rear side vehicle in turn signal direction is above 7 mph.
  • Collision-Avoidance Assist: Differential braking assisted to prevent collision when vehicle speed is above 40 mph and both lane markings detected.

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA)

Helps prevent exiting vehicle with rear passengers left inside.

  • 1st Alert: When front door is opened after opening/closing rear door and engine is off, "check rear seats" warning appears.

Safe Exit Warning (SEW) (if equipped)

After vehicle stops, if approaching vehicle from rear detected when passenger opens door, SEW warns driver with message and audible warning. To Activate: With engine on, select ‘Driver Assistance → Blind-Spot Safety → Safe Exit Assist (SEA)' from Settings menu to turn on SEW. Activate/Deactivate: Select items on instrument cluster:

  1. User Settings.
  2. Convenience.
  3. Rear Occupant Alert. Note: Rear seat passenger alarm system provides information to check rear seats but doesn't detect objects/passengers. Always check rear seats when leaving vehicle.

Drive Mode

Mode changes when DRIVE MODE selection switch is toggled up/down. Indicator illuminates on instrument cluster for sport or smart mode. Not displayed for normal mode.

  • NORMAL mode: Engine and transmission control logic provide regular daily driving performance with fuel efficiency.
  • SPORT mode: Manages driving dynamics by automatically adjusting steering effort, engine, and transmission control logic for enhanced driving performance. Engine RPM will be higher.
  • SMART mode: Selects proper driving mode between normal and sport by judging driver's habits. Note: Drive mode reverts to default normal mode when engine is restarted.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

  • Low Tire Pressure Indicator / TPMS Malfunction Indicator (!): Illuminates if one or more tires are significantly under-inflated. Blinks for ~1 minute then remains illuminated if TPMS malfunction. Inspect and adjust tires to specification.
  • Low Tire Pressure / Tire Pressure Monitor / TPMS Malfunction Display (LCD Display):
    1. Select Driving Assist mode by pressing VIEW MODE button on steering wheel to display tire pressure.
    2. Tire pressures display after driving short distance. If tire pressure drops, Low Tire Pressure Indicator (!) illuminates and cluster display indicates which tire requires air. Note: Environmental factors (ambient air temperature, elevation) affect tire pressure.

Cruise Control (CC) / Smart Cruise Control (SCC)

Allows programming vehicle to maintain constant speed without holding accelerator pedal.

  1. On/Off cruise control.
  2. Toggle switch UP: Resume or Increase cruise speed.
  3. Toggle switch DOWN: Set or Decrease cruise speed.
  4. Pause cruise control.
  • Setting Vehicle Distance (Smart Cruise Control only): SCC assists in setting/maintaining distance from vehicle ahead without depressing accelerator or brake pedal. Press Vehicle distance button to set/maintain distance. Distance automatically activates previous setting value when SCC activates. Each press changes distance: Distance 4 → Distance 3 → Distance 1 → Distance 2.
  • Adjusting vehicle speed:
    1. Push + switch UP to increase cruising speed.
    2. Push - switch DOWN to decrease cruising speed. Note: Quick toggle up/down changes speed by 1 mph. Holding switch up/down changes speed by 5 mph.
  • To Cancel Cruise Control/Smart Cruise Control: Press Driving Assist button or depress brake pedal. Refer to Owner's Manual.

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert

Alerts driver of departure of vehicle in front when stopped. To activate: Select items on instrument cluster or infotainment system:

  1. User Settings.
  2. Driver Assistance.
  3. Driver Attention Warning.
  4. Leading Vehicle Departure Alert. Function stops when deactivated. Maintains previous state if engine turned off/on.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA)

Uses radar sensors to monitor approaching vehicles left/right while reversing. If collision risk detected, brake is controlled. Instrument cluster informs driver of brake control. Message appears on audio/AVN screen if Rear View Monitor is active. Activate/Deactivate: Select items on instrument cluster or infotainment system:

  1. User Settings.
  2. Driver Assistance.
  3. Parking Safety.
  4. Rear Cross-Traffic Safety.

Highway Driving Assist (HDA) (if equipped)

Helps maintain set distance/speed from vehicle ahead and centers vehicle in lane while driving, even through curve. With Engine Start/Stop button in ON or START, HDA can be activated from Settings menu (Setup → Vehicle Settings → Driver Assistance → Driving Assist → Highway Driving Assist). Note: HDA maintains last setting if engine turned OFF/ON.

Operating Conditions:

  • Driving on highway main line.
  • Press Driving Assist button on steering wheel.
  • If entering main road of highways while SCC and LFA operating, HDA automatically activates. Indicator illuminates green when HDA operating.

Electric Parking Brake (EPB)

  • Applying: Stop vehicle, then pull EPB button.
  • Releasing: Press EPB button while depressing brake pedal. EPB automatically applies when: engine off while Auto Hold enabled, parked on slope, or engine off in park but vehicle still moves. To release automatic EPB: With engine running, depress brake pedal and shift into R(Reverse) or D(Drive), then depress accelerator pedal. Note: See Owner's Manual for details.

Reverse Parking Distance Warning (PDW)

Warns driver if obstacle detected when vehicle moving forward/backward at low speeds.

  • Operates when gear is in R (Reverse).
  • Detects person, animal, or object in rear when vehicle's rearward speed is below 6 mph.

Distance from object / Warning Indicator / Warning sound:

  • 24~48 in (60~120 cm) / Driving rearward / Buzzer beeps intermittently.
  • 12-24 in (30~60 cm) / Driving rearward / Beeps more frequently.
  • 12 in. (within 30cm) / Driving rearward / Beeps continuously.

Auto Hold

Assists in steep hill areas. Holds brake until accelerator pedal is pressed.

  • WHITE AUTO HOLD:
    1. Press AUTO HOLD switch.
    2. Stop vehicle by pressing brake pedal. Brakes remain engaged.
  • GREEN AUTO HOLD: 3. Brakes release when accelerator pedal pressed with transmission in D, R or manual mode. To cancel AUTO HOLD, press AUTO HOLD switch again.

Digital Key Pairing (if equipped)

Hyundai Digital Key allows drivers to start engine using smartphone app and Near-Field Communication (NFC).

To pair smartphone:

  1. Login to Hyundai Digital Key Application using MyHyundai username/password.
  2. Start vehicle with proximity key.
  3. Pair phone to vehicle:
    • Navigation Vehicles: Settings → Vehicle → Digital Key → Smartphone Key → Save.
    • Display Audio: Instrument Cluster User Settings Mode → Digital Key → Smartphone Key → Save.
  4. Open Hyundai Digital Key Application on primary user's smartphone. Select + Icon on main screen.
  5. Place smartphone on Wireless Phone Charger. Process begins automatically.
  6. Once vehicle screen says saved, Digital Key is ready. Note: Application only available for Android users. If NFC card lost/stolen, contact local Hyundai dealer.

Near Field Communication (NFC)

To lock/unlock vehicle using NFC key card, hold key card up to center of door handle. Won't work if: Smart Key is in vehicle, POWER button is in ACC or ON, any doors/hood/trunk are open. Note: If you overlap key card with other NFC-enabled cards, it won't work. For security, vehicle can only have one NFC key card paired at a time. New key card disables previously paired card.
