Table 4. Logical drive state descriptions (continued)
Logical drive state Description
Offline The logical drive is in an Offline state and is not
accessible. This state occurs when one of the following
scenarios is true:
v One or more physical drives in a RAID level-0 logical
drive are defunct.
v Two or more physical drives in a RAID level-1,
level-1E, or level-5 logical drive are defunct.
v Three or more drives in a RAID level-5EE logical drive
or RAID level-6 logical drive are defunct.
v One or more drives in a RAID level-5EE logical drive
fail while a compaction is in progress. If the drive fails
after the RAID level-5EE logical drive is in a
Compacted state, the array becomes Critical.
Note: For more information if any of the preceding
scenarios is true, see the section “Rebuilding a Defunct
Drive” in the IBM ServeRAID User's Reference on the
IBM ServeRAID Support CD.
Okay The logical drive is working correctly. It is in a good,
functional state.
Okay Revived The logical drive has recovered to a Okay Revived state.
This state occurs when a logical drive is brought from an
Offline state to an Okay state by using a force online
operation. If no drives are removed, the logical drive
remains in an Okay Revived state until the array is
deleted.
Offline Revived The logical drive changes state from an Okay Revived,
Critical (revived), or Degraded (revived) state to an Offline
Revived state because of one or more drive failures.
Degraded (revived) The logical drive has recovered to a Degraded (revived)
state in RAID 6, based on the following scenarios:
v When a force online operation is performed on an
Offline state logical drive that has one defunct physical
drive in its configuration.
v One of the physical disks is marked defunct from an
Okay (revived) state configuration.
