InFocus Corporation RoHS Declaration of Conformity
InFocus Corporation (“InFocus”) certifies that the restricted material content for IN24
and all of its accessories including cables, power cords and remote controllers as of
4/24/2006 do not exceed the Maximum Concentration Values (MCVs) set by the
European Union’s Restriction on the Use of Hazardous Substances (“RoHS”) Directive,
2002/95/EC.
InFocus uses certain restricted substances in amounts that may exceed the MCVs when
technically necessary; however, these applications are legally allowed under certain
application specific exemptions. Most notably, InFocus uses mercury (Hg) HID lamps
as the illumination source for its projectors. This application is exempt from RoHS
Directive restrictions under exemption 4 (see ATTACHMENT).Other parts of InFocus
products may be covered under but are not limited to other exemptions covered by 7c,
13a, and 14 (see ATTACHMENT)
InFocus relies on material content knowledge and RoHS compliance information
provided by its suppliers and InFocus has taken and continues to take commercially
reasonable steps to ensure that the information on which it relies is reliable and
trustworthy. InFocus maintains copies of those declarations for all parts and materials
used in our products. In the case of a purchased assembly, InFocus receives RoHS
material declarations for the entire purchased assembly from the manufacturer and
requires the OEM manufacturer to maintain detailed material declarations for all
individual components of the purchased assembly. Additionally, InFocus conducts on-
site supplier surveys to validate the supplier’s processes and procedures for RoHS
compliance in parts managements and production processes as deemed necessary.
InFocus conducts testing or chemical analysis on materials and parts used in the
manufacture of our products when necessary due to the lack of supplier declarations or
information that suggests that supplier material declarations may not be credible.
Whereas the IN24 is declared to meet RoHS requirements by InFocus it has been
verified to be in conformance with the Directive 2002/95/EC as InFocus currently
understands the Directive’s requirements. InFocus has an internal system to verify
conformance with all applicable environmental requirements and, to best of InFocus’
knowledge, the information is true and correct.
