Installing a Wireless LAN Card in the PCI
Express Mini Card Slot (Optional)
A wireless LAN card can be installed in the Desktop Board’s PCI Express Mini Card slot.
PCI Express Half-Mini and Full-Mini Cards are supported by this board. Wireless LAN
cards are not included with the Desktop Board and must be purchased separately.
Installing a PCI Express Half-Mini LAN Card
To install a PCI Express Half-Mini Card wireless LAN card on the Desktop Board,
see Figure 16 and follow these steps:
1. Observe the
precautions in "Before You Begin" on page 27.
2. Locate
the PCI Express Mini Card slot (see Figure 1, J).
3. Insert the wireless LAN
card into the PCI Express Mini Card connector
(Figure 16, A) at a slightly upward angle.
4. Al
ign the mounting hole with the post (Figure 16, B) and secure the
card with a
screw.
5. Attach your system’s antenna wires to the connectors (Figure 16, C) on the
wireless LA
N card as shown.
