Please take care when removing the
pull
tab, if it breaks
you
will need to follow
the three st€ps below to
check nothing
is
blocking the battery connection
points
To maintain maximum battery life, Roomba will begin
a
16 hour
charge cycle
when
the
robot has
been left off
the charger
for
an extended
period
of time. This may also happen the first time
you
charge Roomba.
Do not interrupt this 16 hour cycle.
For
best
performance,
always store Roomba on its charging base.
With proper use and storage, Roomba will not
use the 16 hour charging cycle after the first time.
Charging
Roomba
can be done in 2 different ways:
Directly
to the power supply
(bypassing
the home base)
lf Roomba's
battery
life
has shortened,
you
may need
to
reset
the battery. Before the battery can be reset it
needs to be run until Roomba plays
the dead battery song. To stop Roomba returning
to
charge
after
its
cleaning
cycle disconnect the home base.
1. Reset the Roomba charging system. Do
this by
removing
the battery and holding
down the
"clean"
button
for at least 20
seconds.
Then
reinstall the battery.
2. Plug the charger into Roomba
(avoid
using the home base if
you
have one so as
to ensure the Roombat
charging cycle is not interrupted.)
3.
Charge
the battery
until the Roomba power light is
solid
green
and keep the Roomba on the charger for an
additional 72 hours
(3
days.)
Note:
Do not interrupt this charging cycle.
4. In
the Max mode, run the Roomba for one
complete
rycle
without a home base
present,
repeat
steps 3 and
4
a few times. lf
your
Roomba
does
not
have max mode, run
several clean
rycles
until Roomba stops and plays
the
'dead
battery' song.
5.
N€ver
store the battery inside the
unit unless it is connected to the charger
or charging on the home base.
For storage
and transporting Roomba, fully
charge and then remove the battery.
Run time varies
depending on floor type, room layout, battery
age and amount
of
debris.
Battery
performance
and run
time will decrease over
the
warranty
period.
Maintaining clean brushes
optimizes battery
performance.
