5 LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE
5.8 AIR FILTER - DIESEL
Clean Air Filter Element
1. As the element (A) of the air cleaner
employedon this engine is a dry type,
never apply oil to it.
2. Open the evacuator valve once a week
under ordinary conditions-or daily when
used in a dusty place-to get rid of large
particles of dust and dirt.
3. Avoid touching the element except when
cleaning.
4. When dry dust adheres to the element,
blow compressed air from the inside
turning the element. Pressure of
compressed air must be under 7kgf/cm
2
(100psi)
5. When carbon or oil adheres to the
element, soak the element in detergent for
30 minutes thenwash it several times in
water, rinse with clean water and dry it
naturally. After the element is fully dried,
inspect inside of the element with a
light and check if it is damaged or not.
