You can complete most of the maintenance
procedures with the lift arm lowered. Unless a
maintenance procedure instructs you differently, you
must lower the lift arm.
Lift Arm Lowered
1. Park the machine on level, solid ground.
2. Make the machine safe.
Refer to: PIL 01-03.
3. Retract and lower the lift arm.
4. Put the attachment flat on the ground.
5. Release the hydraulic pressure.
Refer to: PIL 30-00.
6. Stop the engine and remove the ignition key. If
the keyless ignition option is installed stop the
engine and wait the specified time.
Duration: 15 s
7. Disconnect the battery to prevent accidental
operation of the engine.
Refer to: PIL 33-03.
8. Make sure there are no loose articles in the
enclosure.
9. If necessary, put blocks against the two ends of
the wheels before you get below the machine.
