7 When the speaker position mode is "S. SPK R"
(Only when you connect optional speakers)
7Auto Surround (AUTO SUR)
This function automatically selects the appropriate
surround mode according to the incoming signals. For
example, a multichannel source is automatically reproduced
in multichannel surround.
7Dolby Surround
Dolby Pro Logic II
Dolby Pro Logic II has a developed multichannel playback
format to decode all 2 channel sources — stereo source and
Dolby Surround encoded source — into a 5.1 channel.
Dolby Pro Logic II has two modes Movie mode and
Music mode:
Pro Logic II Movie (MOVIE)*
Suitable for the reproduction of Dolby Surround encoded
sources.
Pro Logic II Music (MUSIC)*
Suitable for the reproduction of any 2 channel stereo music
sources.
7Dolby Digital (DOLBY D)
Used to reproduce multichannel soundtracks of software
encoded with Dolby Digital.
There are other encoding formats of digital surround
introduced by Dolby Laboratories, such as Dolby Digital
EX.
7DTS (DTS)
Used to reproduce multichannel soundtracks of software
encoded with DTS.
DTS is another discrete multichannel digital audio format
available on CD and DVD software.
There are other encoding formats of multichannel digital
surround introduced by DTS, Inc., such as DTS-ES, DTS
96/24.
7DSP
Stadium (STADIUM)*
STADIUM mode adds clarity and spreads the sound, like in
an outdoor stadium.
All Channel Stereo (ALL ST)*
All Channel Stereo (ALL ST) mode can reproduce a larger
stereo sound field using all the connected (and activated)
speakers.
* Available only for 2 channel source.
NOTE
For ASF, MPEG-2, MPEG-1 and DivX (except DivX version
6), the surround mode takes no effects.
You can check disc information and you can use some
functions using the on-screen bar.
Showing the on-screen bar
7Whenever a disc is loaded
Press ON SCREEN.
Each time you press the button, the on-
screen bar changes as follows on the TV
screen.
Example: During DVD VIDEO playback
The currently selected item is shown green.
Using the on-screen bar
Normal stereo sound
