2.1 General safety instructions
The general safety instructions and notes on residual hazards correspond to the
ones of the standard device for which the installation backplane is intended.

Warnings!
ƒ Branch circuit protection:
Suitable for use on a circuit capable of delivering not more than
5000 rms symmetrical amperes, 500 V max.
ƒ Voltage of the fuses must at least be suitable with the input
voltage of the drive.
ƒ The integral solid state protection does not provide branch circuit
protection and that branch circuit protection has to be provided
externally in accordance with manufacturers instructions, the
National Electrical Code and any additional codes.
ƒ For information on the protection level of the internal overload
protection for a motor load, see the corresponding Application
Manuals or Software Helps.
ƒ For information on rating and proper connection of the thermal
protector (only for connection to motors having integral thermal
protection), see the corresponding Application Manuals or
Software Helps.
ƒ Maximum surrounding air temperature: 55 °C.
ƒ Use 60/75 °C copper wire only, except for control circuits.
ƒ Control card protection:
External fuse for 24 Vdc supply voltage of control terminal X2.
Rated 4 A DC fuse UL248-14.
