Seawater inlet
The seawater filter line is connected to the intake
connection Á of the seawater pump. A hose is
used for this purpose with a diameter of 4 inches.
Seawater outlet
The ship−side piping is connected to the seawater
outlet Â. Seawater is frequently sprayed into the
exhaust system, see page 42. A hose with a 4 inch
diameter is used to connect to the ship−side piping.
Measuring points for commissioning
For the commissioning process there are
measuring points à installed at the inlet and outlet
for the seawater (M14x1.5).
Gearbox oil cooler
Cooling water for the gearbox oil cooler is supplied
through the connection Ä on the seawater pump.
The gearbox oil cooler’s water supply is marked
with “out".
The connection for the cooling water return from
the gearbox cooler is to be installed by the
shipyard on the ship−side piping.
There are 2 possibilities for this:
1. Installation in the seawater outlet downstream
of engine
2. Installation in the seawater injection in the
exhaust system
