Cleaning Exterior of Bin
Exterior stainless steel surfaces can be cleaned with a mild
soap and water solution or a stainless steel cleaner and
polish.
Descaling and Sanitizing Bin Interior
Interior of bin must be descaled and sanitized prior to use
and must be descaled on a routine basis during use.
Ice storage bins must be descaled and sanitized every six
months with Manitowoc Ice Machine Descaler and Sanitizer.

Caution
Use only Manitowoc approved Ice Machine Descaler and
Sanitizer for this application (Manitowoc Descaler part
number 9405463 and Manitowoc Sanitizer part number
9405653). It is a violation of Federal law to use these
solutions in a manner inconsistent with their labeling.
Read and understand all labels printed on bottles before
use.

Warning
Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles (and/or face
shield) when handling Ice Machine Descaler or Sanitizer.
1. Remove upper inspection windows by sliding windows
to one side. Grasp the end of the front window and pull
toward you as the window is slid to the opposite side.
Repeat for rear window.
2. Mix a solution of descaler and warm water. Depending
upon the amount of mineral buildup, a larger quantity
of solution may be required. Use the ratio in the table
below to mix enough solution to thoroughly descale all
parts.

3. Wash bin walls, hopper, access door and rinse all areas
thoroughly with clean water.
Notice
Do not rinse after sanitizing
4. Mix a solution of sanitizer and warm water.

2 oz. (60 ml)
sanitizer
5. Sanitize bin walls, hopper and access door plate. Use a
spray bottle to liberally apply the solution. Do not rinse
the sanitized areas.
