Adjust
the contrast
by rotating

polarizer.

the dust-proot plate
from

DIC
polarizer
and insert
the lambda
plate.
Rotate
the
polarizer
until
the
background
color
changes
to
lhe
sensitive
red-violet,
a specimen

variations
in itslef
ractive
index
or thickness
will
show
interferenc€
colors
corresponding
to the
slope of
the
ì/ariations,
producing
the highest
color
contrast.
To
observe
the imag€
with
the
correct
color
temperature,
slide
the NCB
filter
into the
optical
path,
and
adiust
the
brightness
adiestment
dial to
match
the lamp
rating.
Use the NDfitter
to
adjust
the brightness
of
